If you are getting it at launch, you want to pay more? And if you don't then stick to your previous gen console. #makeitwork
Have to agree Petit has been doing a great job lately posting interesting and deep articles in contrast to some other writers. Though this is a bit out of the blue and late since P4G came out back in November its never too late.
Anyways I personally think she is spot on here. In regards to Naoto the game handles it poorly. First off she even says quote "doesn't fit my ideal image of a detective.", however why would it not? The game takes places in 2011, this isn't exactly the 1950s where women were all housewives and secretaries. This is like saying a women should be a nurse not a doctor, that a woman can not be as good as a police officer or fireman because it is perceived to be a man's job and a male dominated work force. This is modern setting and it is not like there has not been other female detectives in history both internationally and with respect to Japan. Additionally I find this hard to believe with Japan's pop culture, there are tons of things like anime/manga/drama etc. that have women in jobs like these and everywhere in between. It is also important to note in reality that Japan's birth rate is among the lowest and do to this many women are in the work force thus I wouldn't be surprised that they wouldn't be in every field. To me it is like her story arc just touched on the issues of being transgendered and ultimately was a bit of a let down and more of an anime cliche or stereotype, which this game usually tries to stray from by making the characters more realistic and relate-able. If her story was edited and focused more on the issue it would have been more interesting since there isn't exactly many games that go into this issue and handle it properly.

@Nitrous_18 So true! I don't know why people even want BC. If you're a Sony fan, you should own a ps3 by now. There has been 3 models, tons of sales and price cuts etc. Thus if you own a ps3, why would you need BC on a ps4? To make it cost more? If I wanna play ps3 games, I'll use my ps3. All it adds is cost, bulk and other unnecessary problems that only cripples gamers and Sony in development.
@FusionRain I actually agree with this as well. Obviously this will have a huge impact in the next generation. But at the sametime used doesn't always offer a significant discount. For example I just bought Resident Evil 5 Golden, and I could get it new for $20 or $15 used. The difference wasn't that big considering the original cost and how fast games depreciate in cost overtime (RE6 is a great example lol).
