yes it is possible i have the exact same setup on my laptop. The way i accomplished it is, with my Windows XP CD, I went to reinstall my Windows XP operating system. when in the reinstallation setup screen, somewhere along the lines you have options to wipe your hard drive, and partition it. then you can partition it. then after reinstalling windows xp, you put ur linux cd in and install it on the other partition then after both are installed, when you start up your computer it asks you which operating system you'd like to use and if u dont choose, after 10 seconds it goes by default to ur primary one. ubuntu is a great linux, very very easy to use and very very nci

How do you acquire money for spending? This is a question I've grown curious of due to people online with very nice computers. I wonder, when people brag about their amazing good computers (and some of them, indeed, are amazing) where do they come up with the money for such a computer? For people to post on this topic, here is some information I'd like to know: Your age Your source of money (job, parents, thievery, drug deals, etc.) What you spend your money on and if you spend your money on a computer as i do, please say so with your computers' specs. Here is my information: I'm 16 I work at my neighbours house doing yard work at 10 dollars an hour, doing such things as gardening, mowing lawns, etc. its boring work i spend my money on my computer I have an HP pavillion, 2gb ram, Radeon x1900xt video card, pentium 4 processor my computers ok but i plan to buy a new one. anybody else who would like to share their computer information and how they acquire the money to do so, please say so.

use google to find an answer, web is full of infoj3ninja10
heh. thats really helpful. clearly he doesnt wanna use google to find an answer he wants to ask gamespot users. web is full of info gamespot IS part of the web. what a silly post. Like everyone has been saying tho about GHz speed, that its not really as significant as it used to be as games are more reliant now on video cards... but one thing you should consider is: dual core processors are not fully optomized in modern computers; not everything is compatable. in some cases, dual cores mess things up a bit but i wouldnt worry about it as everything is modernizing into dual core processors. one of the best things to do is go to a website like newegg.com or ncix.com and under the Processors section check which ones are the most popular (bought the most) and even read the posts about those as many people ask questions there to as to which one should they get. www.ncix.com www.newegg.com

another way is to download the program CPUZ once you run it, its sort of like Direct X diagnostic, providing you with information when you go to the memory page it explains what kind of slots you have for example, PC3200 is a type of slot, the kind i have.

I personally don't own Vista but I've had enough experience with it to make a summary of how it is better and how it is worse. Let me first point out that it took 6 years and 14 billion dollars to produce Windows Vista. It baffles me as to where that time and money went. Windows XP is better. (Right now atleast.) Perhaps in a year or two, Windows Vista will become what it is supposed to be, but as for right now, you should wait with Windows XP. For one thing: Windows Vista is extremely picky; although it is supposed to be "backwards compatable," it fails to install countless numbers of programs and most importantly games for the PC. When it comes to Apple's iTunes, Windows Vista wants to stab you in the face for even thinking about it. It won't recognize my iPod so i have to now transfer all of my files to an older computer in order for me to still use my iPod. Drivers and specific software are barely compatable; because of Windows Vista, everyone with old video cards (who have Windows Vista) are now stuck with retarded drivers that don't operate properly over half of the time. Beyond those bad parts are the "amazing new features." Quickly take a look at Windows' new "sidebar." Then go look at a Mac running OSX. Then look at Google Desktop with Google Gadgets. As has been many times before, Windows has reproduced sombody elses work and called it their own. These widgets are not unique and especially not new. Observe Vista's new search tool, how, in the start menu you can easily find the files and folders. Especially, look at the little magnifying glass icon. Go back to OSX again and look at Mac's search tool. They are virtually identical. They even have the exact same little magnifying glass (the little blue thing) icon, only Windows flipped theirs around. These great new features are simply copies. Reasons like this make me hate Vista. Let's look at the good things about Vista: - It's rather appealing. (It looks good) - the potential of DirectX 10 Basically, Microsoft spent 14 billion dollars and 6 years to make a pretty version of Windows XP meets Mac OSX. Because Microsoft took so long, for the last 6 years the computer world evolved on Windows XP (excluding Mac's + Linux, an insignificant percentage) and now have to deal with this extremely demanding upgrade. I still find it amazing how people can actually spend over 400 dollars on a premium version operating system when Linux is free. Absolutely free, and absolutely easy to use. If games were designed to run on Linux, the world would forget what Windows was. DirectX 10 has potential. Right now, it is not worth it to buy the Only video card, (emphasis on Only) that runs DirectX 10 properly. In a year or so when the options have expanded, the time will be right to buy a video card, as they will then be optomized to run it. As of right now, Windows XP wins. Now for all the haters to flame

buy or learn a heal other spell, and use it on your horse.
