Finally, I am able to get a 60GB PS3 and I couldn't be happier. :) However, I have a question about the A/V setup, I was hoping some of you would be able to help me out.

I know the PS3 runs with an HDMI setup. However, my home theater receiver does not have an HDMI jack, just digital coaxial and regular A/V jacks. My DVD player runs HDMI from it to my HDTV. However, it's also connected via D-Coax into the receiver for when I want surround sound. My receiver has a second D-Coax jack. Does the PS3 offer D-Coax or what? My PS2 is running composite cables for visual (into the TV) and digital optic for sound (into the receiver) to ensure best gaming experience.

I can easily switch the HDMI cable into my PS3 for visual and audio, but I would also prefer to hear it on surround sound. What type of jacks does the PS3 offer?

Oh yeah, what type of cable do I need for the internet? 'Ethernet to ethernet' or 'ethernet to usb'?

Well, I got lucky enough to get up to 25 kills, no dice. Maybe it's just for money. Unless someone knows otherwise. And, the sniper mission is in the second level: Laval Falls. Also, vehicles are unlocked via completing missions, race mini-missions, and stunt mini-missions.

Really, this game may end up having a short shelf life in my library.

When playing the Sniper mini-mission, do you unlock any vehicle or something after getting so many kills? I've gotten up to 23/24 and haven't unlocked anything. I'd hate to keep trying at the Sniper mission just to find out it doesn't unlock anything, only give you money per kill.

Again, not knocking on the ones who like to do in-car view, everyone is different.  With GT4, I couldn't do it for that long because I'd always off-shoot something or not drive effectively because of mis-gauging alot.  However, it is obvious that GTR 2 has made it simpler to see a bit more of the car to place it with their in-car views, which I find very nicely done.  Someone has done their homework.

I went to Best Buy's website to browse around their available UMD movies and some were at the $15 mark which I found reasonable.  Tho, not a whole lot of movies available, at least on their site, so I was a bit disappointed.

That is a nice video shot of the game.  And, per my defense, it wasn't a 3 paragraph rant but a 3 paragraph statement of how I feel.  If it was a rant, there'd be a bit more yelling (CAPS) and excessive exclamation points at the end of nearly every sentence.  I do like the detail, nothing I've seen on any other games, including GT4.  At least that in-car view is much more detailed and they implement physics  of body yaw, pitch, and roll nicely.

Plus, I can only go on assumptions of what the video game offers because reviews don't offer much and I'd hate to go and buy the game to be disappointed.  And, downloading a demo is risky depending on the game because some developers like to limit what you can do in a demo.

Not entirely true.  I like simulation, but a video game is a game and can NEVER portray the real deal of driving a car over a race track.  Being in-car mildly does that.  How so?  Because you can't feel the car relate every bump, grip threshold, lean, jounce, and weight transfer back to you like in real life.  I've been doing this for a long time and will always stand by the fact that a sim-game is just a game, and if you really want to experience the real thing, you just need to get in your car and head to the track.

An in-car view  on a video game still cannot portray enough to make it worthwhile.  To some people, in their minds, they believe they can race better.  I'm not one of those people.  Only in real life when my car is on the track is it worthwhile.  Because then you can feel the car respond to every move you make.  Games are 2D, real-life is 3D and is also just that: real-life.  So you can actually feel the car's limits.  A game simply just cannot.

Not knocking on the sim-freaks, if that's their only way into the world of racing, that's just fine.  Me, if it's a game, I prefer to see all around the car to know where every part of it is at on the track.  I don't have to worry about that in real life because I know the dimensions of my car, so there's no need to be outside the car.

Now, if video game manufactuers make a nice actual simulation machine like those found in business and government establishments, then I'm all up for an in-car view.

Oh wow, that is nice.  I wonder why they don't have any screenshots like those on this website?  Really a shame, the game still looks good.  Thanks for the image.  I've tried in-car view before on Gran Turismo and the only thing I like about it is that it sounds really good on stereo surround (you get to hear the engine wind up better).  But, in-car I can't tell where the car is, I prefer the outside view to ensure where it goes.

I've fiddled with a PSP before, with just a couple games, but I haven't a clue of how well the video quality is when watching a movie/UMD on the thing.  Is it kind of grainy or crisp and clean like watching a tiny DVD player?

Okay, I've looked around but haven't found the answer to my question.  Or, I may have, depending on what everyone else says.

In regards to the game GTR 2, I was wondering about the camera views when driving.  Every screenshot that has been shown on GameSpot is always in-car.  However, I prefer my racing games with Behind Car view (far).  I'm assuming that because all of the screenshots are in-car, that there is no behind the car view is there?  I've asked around, no one has known, so I'm bringing my question to the board, to see if anyone has played it and/or knows the answer.

GTR 2.  Is there only one camera view or can you choose multiple views?  Thanks for your help.
