When accessing the internet browser on the PS3, I guess due to my HDMI settings, it really makes the page font really, really small to read. Even readjusting my TV screen to "Zoom", it still doesn't help. I've looked through the entire instruction manual, online manual, and messed with the PS3 settings and still cannot get it to be viewed bigger.

Any way to fix this?

And, is there a way to access the actual internet with this thing? Because all I can view is the PS store and the online manual.

I had the same problem with different video files on my SD card. I tried reconverting the files to make them more workable (is that proper grammar?) and still nothing.

Okay, I just hooked up my PS3 and downloaded v1.90 software version. After it downloaded it, it said something about the screen going blank as it updated. How long does this take? It's been quite a few minutes and the screen is still black. I tried having the PS3 go into stand-by mode but it just beeps back at me and continues to stay on. I figure this was a way to keep the system from crashing. But, I'm still concerned that this is normal. Is it?

Thank you very much, the both of you.

kimbokasteniv - that's a very easy to follow, detailed description about all of that. I'm thinking a wireless router would be best. I thought a switch was only to connect one PC to another and had to go through the first PC's internet connection to connect, whereas a router would allow individual internet connections. You kind of lost me on the hub part and I am confused about your "reasons I won't disclose" part on the router. Not like it's a big secret or anything.

It's a fun game that lacks in content, but it shows the PS3's power pretty well for coming out so early...overall it's a fun online racer but if I were you, I'd get Resistance as my first game.NextGen86

I'm so glad you said that. I'm getting my PS3 and was looking into getting Resistance as my first game. It was either that or Motorstorm but after reading the reviews, I chose Resistance.

Don't I need a router in order for the PS3 to share the modem's internet connection?

I'm a little confused about the whole router and switch thing. First, I'm wondering if I can connect my PS3 to the ethernet port in the back of my cable modem and connect my PC to the USB B port in the back of my modem. One person says it shouldn't be a problem, another says that it would freeze the modem up if I use both continuously because of all the packets being sent.

So, I went online to Best Buy and did one of those "Figure out my setup" things. In the end, it listed switches, not routers. What's the difference? Besides price, which I found switches to be cheaper. Can anyone help me out here? Do I need to get a switch? Or, a router? Or, can I just connect both my PC and PS3 into the cable modem?
