I love the physics in GT5, especially how the handling evolves during the course of a race. The tyre wear can be very challenging later on in the game and the feeling of the weight shifting around in the car is very noticable. GT5 has a lot of very peculiar design choices which I hate but when you get to the actual racing it's a superb game.
I've tried Forza 3 on my son's Xbox and it was ok, I thought it felt a bit like Grid, good but not special. I took an R8 around Suzuka for about 20 laps and never felt I was feeling the limit of the car or any evolution of the handling.
I haven't tried Forza 4, I'll have to wait until my son gets it before I can give it a go, but based on my experience on Forza 3 after everyone was raving about it and the comments on here about the both, I just don't think Forza 4 is what I am looking for in a driving game.
That's not to say I think any of the Forza's are bad, they just don't have what I'm looking for in a driving game. Whenever I see the usual GT vs Forza arguments, they are generally about the graphics - personally, I don't care what the cars look like because my focus is on the next apex not the rear of my car or the trees! I have friends that rave about the livery editor on Forza but it's just something that I would not use and it took me ages to realise there wasn't a rewind feature on GT5 because it's not something I use.
Forza has a lot of fans so it obviously does a lot of things right, but just because there are some us out here that love GT5 doesn't mean we are fanboys (well not all of us anyway).
