One of the best PS3 games, and only $10!

PixelJunk Monsters is one of the best Playstation 3 games on the console. Remarkably, the game is only $9.99 but you get a lot for the small price you pay. The game, as you might have read, is a tower defense game where you defend the small village and villagers from different monsters by building towers to destroy the monsters. It is different than many tower defense games because you have to build the towers where are tree is and therefore you are limited to where you can place the towers. Also, you control a small tribe dude that runs around building these towers, but he also has to pick up gold and jewels to upgrade the towers. Because of this, there is a very fine balance between building towers and picking up the gold/jewels from monsters, plus you don't want to get hit by any monsters or your gold goes flying everywhere.

Because of the gameplay there is a lot of trial and error involved, sometimes you might easily waste 20 minutes over and over again until you figure out what you must do. This can be very frustrating at times but the funny thing with the game is you know how predictable the A.I. will be so it's not going to stress you out to play the levels over and over again. Plus, the game challenges you to get a perfect score so you can unlock other, more difficult levels (a perfect score means not a single villager dies).

I could go into more detail about how the game plays but I don't think there is much need. I've sunk a ton of hours into the game already and the funny thing is that the game is a lot of fun, more fun than a lot of full priced games actually. For $10 you get a lot of game, and if you have a friend with you there is an offline 2 player co-op that makes the game even more enjoyable. If you are looking for a cheap game you can put a lot of time into that is also a blast to play, download this as soon as you can. You probably won't regret it.
