Microsoft confirms new Xbox

I want more... my compulsion to overdue everything unto the gritty depresing end its not satisfied. Give my more of everything. I need more.

Look folks it is time. Time for new consoles, time for new IPs, time for the console life cycle to advance.  

There will still be plenty of content on the old systems, both digital and retail. But at least there will be the next generation of consoles coming to life. All the possibilities, all the chance for failure, chance for profit, chance for success, it will at least be there. 

All the arguments for and against a new system have been said before,: both in the history of consoles and the change of anything throughout history. 

For some people we would still be driving Model T cars, using windows 95, watching three networks, and still be under British rule here in the USA. 

Me and most others are ready for the new, (I may not be able to afford a new console day one) but just reading and seeing the buzz, the excitement, and watching developers take wild risks on new IPs will be just as enjoyable. Yes we may get some Dreamcasts (burn bright hot then fizzle), Wii's (great then sour over time) but we also may get a PS one or a super nintendo or xbox 360. 

I do not care who wins or loses as long as I get to be part of the fight. And I will double down on the games, GAMES, GAMES, GAMES!! Yes awesome games still do come in the late cycle of consoles lives- but really, you know its the next generation that spawns winners and failures. Either way the gamer wins.

I don't need new consoles, rather new IP, new gaming experiences. As of today, xbox and ps3 are still doing a great job with awesome grade-A titles. There's yet too much that can be done before launching a new next-gen.

I agree with wescraven.  I'm not ready for new consoles either.  I'd prefer to wait.  If new stuff came out in late 2014 or even in 2015, I'd be happy rather than sad.

 I am not ready for a new console just yet. Hope they take their time and work out the bugs instead of rushing it out to beat sony to the market. Do it right this time please. I am still trying to catch up on games from last generation. Personally I could wait another year or two before we come out with new stuff.

I would hope that this new one would really have some remarkable games, and by that I mean something that would at least make me consider buying it.

I play games a lot less than I used to, not enough to warrent a day one purchase of any console (which is a universal no-no anyway), but if kinect is mandatory with a lot of games then playstations going to be my first console next gen.

even though i havent seen anything other than this article about it im probably not going to get it...at least not right away....ive wasted thousands of dollars on video games over the years and now that im 2 years away from going to college i need to worry about that more than this

Translation. We're not actually talking about a new xbox yet. But aren't you stoked about the new dashboard? And you don't need a new console yet. There's kinect games!

my 360 has lasted nearly 4 years but i might need to buy a new one soon. hopefully this rumour isn't entirely true, because there is no way i'm buying the next xbox so soon after buying a second 360. unless my current one isn't breaking down then go ahead and release it if you wish.

Good to see Sony is not just spitting out slightly improved console and is waiting for genuine advancements,New Xbox and second iteration of Kinect for $299 sound suspicious. 

More than likely a more powerful console but yet they will continue to push Kinect, services  and XBLA titles that use hardly any power. What is the point of making a more powerful console if you aren't going to use it. Doesn't make any sense.

When Sony says significant, gosh darn it, it better be significant, not like some machine that now has video chat

If this is true then i want GTA 5 for the 720. let them wait a couple more months make bretter graphics or something, or fix the little bugs. It would really suck if GTA come's out a couple of months before the 720 and we will have to wait 3-4 years for a new one.....

There's no detailed info about the new Xbox itself, but a leaked info and photos of its development kit appeared. This doesn't sound like any sort of confirmation to me. It's possible that he's talking about the next Xbox console, but he could easily be talking about some sort of update or service for the Xbox 360, such as a new dashboard update. Remember, the redesigned one they gave us in 2008 was called the "New Xbox Experience".

Could also be talking about something like a new 360 hardware SKU, such as the $99 subscription bs, or the Windows 8 Xbox Live service, which might let us play 360 games on PC or something

In my opinion, Microsoft should focus on finding good developers on developing new IPs for hardcore video gamers on the Xbox 360 than creating the next Xbox. The Xbox 360 still has enough lifecycle to keep going. It would be even great if they got Rare to develop Killer Instinct 3 instead of those stupid Kinect video games on the Xbox 360.

Explain to me how this qualifies as a confirmation. Damn, talk about the "fail" of the basic education system in the area of proper English comprehension and reading. It's not like It's a suprise another xbox will eventually be built and sold......

By the way Gsmespot referancing the next xbox is not the same as Confirming it

RUMOR! EVERYTHING is going to be digital! I use Steam. I have quite a few games from sales. But I don't own those games. I'll never own those games. I have a license to play those games, nothing more, nothing less. A license that can be revoked. Not to mention the requirement of an Internet connection, something I am not always privy to. No, I don't think I like this digital future. At all.
