Nostalgia once again hits its target as the classic NBA game returns to the modern-era! The gameplay remains basically the same with some new additions. The power-ups, crossovers, and big animations on dunks are great additions to the game. Also, the graphics are well done for the Wii system: the photographed head expressions of the players and crazy animations makes it a game to laugh and at the same time be amazed at. The sounds are great: the commentator makes the games hilarious, enthusiastic, and audience-pumping at the same time. The new game modes such as Domination and 21 helps breaks away from the main 2 vs. 2 a bit. Also, the Remix Mode is a new challenging feature to try out. On top of that, there are a lot of challenges that await for you to beat. As a result, they will release a lot of goodies like hidden legends, arenas, and other surprises.
The downside is that there is no online feature, which may be fine for those who don't want to deal with lags or people with professional skills. However, it brings down the replayability by a bunch of notches.
Overall, NBA Jam is a fun and simple game to have and get into. With its wacky animations, same ol' gameplay with a new twist, and lots of hidden treasures to find, I'll say that those good ol' days are back. KABOOM!!
