I remember when i first played MGS, that was about 7 years ago.
Any way MGS is one of my favorite games, that was great days playing it and nights too, He He.
MGS is excellent because :
1#. I had great graphics.
2#. The storyline was just, well, i cant even describe it.
3#. Great gameplay.
4#. Great options, and unlockable Stealth camouflage.
5#. The feeling when you play the game, you know.
6#. Great Bosses too.
7#. And many more.

Thats why the MGS is one of the greatest games ever.
Second place in my own game top, but the first is , Well you know.
