Somebody was on an acid trip when they decided to make this game. You play the role of a young conductor, who one day (seemingly after swallowing some mushrooms) is confronted by a fairy. She tells you of a plan to shut down the local symphony hall. Your job is to go around town, conducting performances and gathering popularity and support to keep the hall open. As you play through different scenarios, more and more musicians join up with you. They include a man and his ginormous knockered fiancee who is always pulling off Ike Turner style backhands on him. They also include a circus performer in a lion suit who never takes his costume off, an egotistical effeminate fashion designer, some aliens who land to take over and decide they want to pursue classical music instead, and a few other weirdos.

All in all the story is pretty much just filler, it's really more of an annoyance than anything. Where this game scores points is 1) the unique gameplay and 2) the classical music. The gameplay and controls are incredibly simple, yet unique. All you really use is the X button and the occasional direction button to bring in a new instrument. The tricky part is with the X button, which you have to do two things with. First, you have to time it correctly with the notes. And second, you have to use the button with the proper force. For light notes press lightly, for heavy press hard, and medium somewhere in between. I, for one, had no idea PS2 controllers were even capable of recognizing how hard you press the buttons, but apparently they are. I am surprised that no other games (none that I have played, anyway) have taken advantage of this.

The other good thing about this game was the music. If you're at all into classical music, there's some good music to be had here.

There's not a whole lot of depth to this game, but if you're looking for something different, you're into classical music, and you can find this game at a cheap price, go for it.
