While it's essentially more of the same, it's still done very well, and remains a fun experience.

For most of you gamers out there, this probably isn't your first kirby game. And if it is, then you won't be disappointed. Kirby is a pick-up-and-play kind of series that is simple to understand, but has plenty of depth to keep you interested for a long time.

The story starts with kirby getting his strawberry shortcake stolen by the squeak squad, a band of mice thieves who you battle throughout the game for treasure. You actually end up chasing the mice over the course of the entire game, but don't let that throw you. Kirby has never needed a deep story, because his games have strong enough gameplay to make you overlook that fact and just enjoy playing.

The gameplay involves kirby running across levels filled with enemies and obstacles. To get through these levels, the easiest way is to suck up enemies and obtain their power (like fire or ice). Once acquired, these powers make it much easier to trek through the stages, but if you collide with an enemy at any point, you lose your power. It takes the form of a star and bounces around the stage, so it's possible to suck it back up. You aren't invincible though, as you have a health bar that goes down the more you get hit, so it helps to master each copy ability you get. Boss fights are always fun, some being more challenging than others, so stay on your toes!

One new addition includes collecting treasure chests in each of the levels. When you acquire them in your inventory and finish the level with them, you recieve various prizes, including color changes for kirby, palate styles, a secret map, a secret medal, and various other things. However, these chests are often guarded by the squeak squad, and sometimes using strategy is necessary; you can't always run in guns blazing and expect to win. Chests are placed in clever places, and it's up to you to figure out how to get them. The gameplay additions include maybe 5 new modes for kirby, one of my favorites being ninja kirby with shiriken and fire attacks. You can also drag and combine powers and food in your inventory to make new creations to help you out. There are also a few multiplayer games to enjoy with friends.

The graphics look amazing, sound effects are good, and the music is always catchy. Replay value is fairly big, at least until you find all the chests.

Like I said before, kirby squeak squad is simple, but lots of fun. Pretty much any gamer could enjoy this title, and it will keep you busy for a good amount of hours. I recommend this game to everyone. Enjoy!
