The 2 PSP God of War games make the jump to the PS3 but how well do they hold up.

User Rating: 8.5 | God of War Collection: Volume II PS3
GOW1 and 2 from the PS2 era appeared on the PS3 with stunning HD visuals and looked and still played incredible on the PS3 but can the handheld games handle the PS3.

You get 2 games Chains of Olympus and Ghost of Sparta. Chains of Olympus is the first in the story and it tells the story of Kratos who wants to rid of his past tragedies and be reunited but its not that simple. Basically you go around slashing enemies pulling off insane brutal combos and devasting finishes. While the game is fun it lacks the spark of other games in the series and there is no rage meter like in other entires in the series but overall a solid game.

Ghost of Sparta has a much better story and pacing. It tells the tale of what happened to Kratos brother and he goes off to find him. The action in this game is more intense you are sliding down walls sometimes and the rage meter does return where your swords can be on and do alot of damage. The game lacks puzzles which is a shame because God of War seems to shine in those areas.

Presentation

To be honest the upgrade to the PS3 from PSP aren't as good as they were on the PSP and fall behind the 2 PS2 games released as well.

Lastability

About 6 hours for both they aren't as long as the console ones but there is the Challenge of the Gods and they have some testing tasks to complete. Plus there's always trophy support as well.

Overall Opinion

Not as good as the previous collection but well worth a playthrough. Ghost of Sparta is a must play and Chains of Olympus is okay but not as good as Ghost of Sparta. It is worth a playthrough of each probably.
