Let's Beat-'em All

User Rating: 8.7 | God Hand PS2
First of all, God Hand is pure fun game. It doesn't have a great story nor visuals but the gameplay is amazing.

The graphics of God Hand is very well done for characters, their moves, models. You'll see every weird kind of enemies in this game and its obvious the character designs are made for making you want to beat them so its funny but that cant be said for the environment. Level design is bland, even I didn't care about that, it may be not good for an average gamer.

The sounds are great and fun, also the musics are fitting to humor of the game. The character voices are done according to character types, so its fit. While all musics are nice, the ending song makes the ending as one of the greatest endings, in aspect of humor of course.

And the gameplay, the strongest point of God Hand. Its really very good and easy to get used to it. You start with 4-hit combo and some different moves for different buttons. Later in the game you reach 6-hit combo and stronger techniques (114 total) to use. So you can always come up with different combos and enjoy your different moves. The game's name God Hand is your right arm ( I won't tell anything about story ) and you have 2 different methods to use. The first one is Roulette, which makes you choose one of your powerful attacks to use and the second one is releasing God Hand power, once your Tension Power bar is full. Its like berserk mode, you become faster and stronger and when you are done, you can fill Tension Bar again by beating enemies or getting sexy girl card.

The game's difficulty is really challenging, so its really fun. At first, enemies look dumb and move slowly, you beat them easily. But there is an interesting feature in this game. At left side of the screen, there is a difficulty bar. You start with level 1 but with every punch, kick, grab moves or dodging this bar will be filled and when you reach the next level enemies will act differently. They will start acting cooperatively, they won't move slowly nor won't wait for your attacks. If you reach Level DIE ( level 4 ), you'll find pretty fun in this game. You may die with just a few attacks in Level DIE but to survive in Level DIE is really something amazing. Also, while your level is higher there will be a new roulette technique named Grovel. If you use this technique, your character will fall to his knees and beg, so it will reset your level. Even if you were playing on Level DIE you can reset the bar by using Grovel. If you started with Hard mode, Grovel has no effect because Hard mode is set on Level DIE.

God Hand is obviously made for fun. It has same environment as old Sunset Riders and even the same enemy, Elvis ( the first level boss that throws barrels at you ) so it made me remember old times and I enjoyed the game more. Its full of humors, even character designs are enough for that (I couldn't believe those 5 power ranger midgets ), and great gameplay, so if you like beat-'em-'up games God Hand is perfect choice for you.
