Free Chao
To get more Chao in your gardens, just do this: Take an Egg or Chao from Sonic Adventure 1, put in in a VMU, and then go into any Chao Garden in Sonic Adventure 2, and take the Chao out there. You'll get a Sonic Adventure 2 Chao egg!

Win Chao Ball

Clone a Chao
You will need 2 memory cards with at least 128 blocks on each. First take the chao you want to clone out on one of the VMUs. The either e-mail yourself a copy (or to a friend) or just copy in the file manager of the dreamcast. The File is Sonic2____VM. Now you have two of the same chao.

Phantasy Star Online Costumes
For Sonic, successfully complete all of his missions (not including ''Cannon's Core''). You will receice a message saying that you have completed all of Sonic's missions and that you have also unlocked a secret costume. Go to versus mode, select your stage or versus type, but before that press right and you will see a diffrent picture of Sonic. Once the versus mode begins sonic's costume will look like the red HUmar from Phantasy Star Online. The code is the same for Shadow, except his costume is a red HUcast.

Alternate way for an 'A' Ranking
Complete a level with every ring collected. If you do this, you should get a 'Perfect' stamp on the Ring Count when you complete the level and a guaranteed 'A' rank.

After getting your upgrade exit the level. After leaving the level go to stage select and go to any level that is easy and quick for you complete. After completing the level the game saves your upgrade.

Win a Chao Radio
To get a raido for your Chao, complete the 4th Dark Race, the 'Angel vs. Devil' race. Once you do this, you should find a radio for your Chao in the Dark Garden.

Board
First, have two controllers plugged in. In Sonic's second stage (Metal Harbour), press Y in the second controller at any time. Sonic'll get a board under his shoes and will be able to street board the level with it! However, you can't complete the stage with this board.

Main Theme
To unlock the "Main Theme" (Live and Learn) in Sound Test, you must have the three stories finished (Hero, Dark and Last). Select 1P mode, Last story, and fight the Final Hazard again. After the Credits, go to Stage Select mode, choose any stage and mission and finish it. Finally, go to Sound Test and select "Character". "Main Theme" is above "Theme of Sonic".

All Boss Attack
To unlock the All Boss Attack, you must of completed the Hero Story, Dark Story and the Last Story, it will appear in the 1 player menu, The All Boss attack is a time attack where you face all the bosses from the Hero Story, then Dark Story then finally the Last Story in succession with no breaks.

Reuse an Animal Multiple Tines in a Chao Garden
While holding your animal, go as close to your chao as possible without giving it to the chao. Then simply drop the animal in front of your Chao. If done correctly the chao will give the same animation as if you handed the animal to the chao, only you can pick the animal up again. This can also be done with chaos drives.

Big The Cat Cutscene Cameos
Despite not being a part of the main storyline, Big the Cat can appear in the backgrounds of some cutscenes. All you have to do is mash the A button during certain moments. These are:
-When Sonic jumps out the helicopter at the start of the game. Big will pilot the helicopter.
-When Sonic encounters Shadow for the first time. Big will run away from the fallen mech.
-When Amy sees Shadow aboard the space station, and again right before she says that she should stop whining. Big will walk back and forth past Amy down the hall.
-When the sliding panel opens in the scene before the Egg Golem fight. Big will be standing behind the panel.
-The scene after Knuckles and Rouge fight in Meteor Herd, specifically when the shots change between the two characters. He will do different things in the background of almost every shot, such as running along the beams or peeking from around the corner.
-When Eggman is confused and angry over why the cannon won't fire. Big will fish behind the computer screen, off the right side of the platform.Contributed by: discoinferno84

Chaos Chao
To get a Chaos Chao you must first have your chao reincarnate twice. Then in its third life while its a child give it one of every 21 kinds of animals. Only one of the same animal and dont give it drives then have the alignment to what you want it to be. For a Hero Chaos Chao make its alignment hero for Nuetral Chaos Chao make its alignment Nuetral. For a Dark Chaos Chao make its alignment dark. Then wait for you chao to evolve and a Chaos chao will come out of the Caccoon

Speed Up 2-Player Time Stop
When playing two player, if your opponent uses "Time Stop," press and hold forward on the control stick to make the time go faster.

2 Player speedup glitch
Double Running Speed
In a 2 player action race Sonic and Shadow can activate a glitch that will increase your running speed. To activate the glitch get between 80-89 rings, and make sure you have a speedup. when you are ready stand in front of a point marker and then press B button to activate your speedup, directly afterwards run through the gate. your character will now run at 2x speed. to deactivate the glitch exit the level or select "No" after the race is over.
NOTE:this glitch will also cause a decrease in grinding and boarding speed. Double Grinding and Boarding speedIn a 2 player action race Sonic and Shadow can activate a glitch that will increase your grinding and boarding speed. To activate the glitch get between 80-89 rings, and make sure you have a speedup. when you are ready stand in front of a point marker walk through and then press B button to activate your speedup as soon as the lightspeed shoes appear. your character will now run at half speed,but will board and grind faster to deactivate the glitch exit the level or select "No" after the race is over.Contributed by: GrandmasterRemy

Chao Traits
To raise a chao that is more skilled in either running, swimming, flying, or strength, you must feed the chao a certain type of chaos drive while a chao is still a child. For a fast running chao, feed it more green chaos drives than any other color of chaos drive. For a fast swimming chao, feed it more yellow chaos drives than any other color of chaos drive. For a fast flying chao, feed it more purple chaos drives than any other color of chaos drive. And for a stronger chao, feed it more red chaos drives than any other color of drive. But remember! Your chao must be a child! You can tell if you've done it right, if your chao starts to grow odd extentions on the back of its head.

Invincible Amy
This only works in multiplayer. The first step is to die. Then, before you are re-spawned, Hold the B-button. If you continue to hold it, you will become invincible and kill any other player you touch.
This trick only works as long as you hold the B button down. If you release it, you will lose this glitch and have to die again to regain it.Contributed by: MauricXe

Follow the methods below to obtain the desired unlockable:
Unlockable Unlockable Simply complete both Route 101 (Hero) and Route 280 (Dark) and Kart Race in 2P Battle with become avaible. 2P Kart Race Complete either the Hero or the Dark side story modes. Here you will be able to fight each boss from either the Hero or the Dark side Boss Attack Mode Raise a Dark Chao with one of the three ''Dark'' characters. Continually feed and train your Dark Chao and soon it will evolve (creates a tear-shaped ''cocoon''). Once it evolves, the descending stairs should appear at the main Chao lobby Dark Chao Garden Win at least one race from Aquamarine, Garnet, Peridot, and Topaz Chao Races to unlock them. Diamond & Onyx Chao Races Get all 180 Emblems and unlock the 3D version of Green Hill Zone from Sonic The Hedgehog 1. Green Hill Zone Raise a Hero Chao with one of the three Hero characters. Continually feed and train your Hero Chao and it should evolve (creates a tear-shaped ''cocoon''). Once it evolves, ascending stairs should appear at the main Chao lobby leading to the Hero Garden. Hero Chao Garden When you are on the Theme Select screen, rotate the Control Stick Clockwise for a while until you hear a chime-like sound. You should be able to select the Secretary Theme. Hidden Secretary Theme Complete all 4 of the original races and get the emblem. The Jewel races will be unlocked. Jewel races In the Hero Side story complete the Tails driving quest and then in Dark Side story successfully finish the Rouge chase mission. You will now have a playable kart racing game to play. Kart Racing Game In order to play the actual last and final stage of this game, then finish both Hero and Dark side story games. Once this is done, go into story mode and a ''Last Stage?'' menu selection should appear between the Hero and the Dark Side selections Last Stage Beat Final Rush or Final Chase in the Hero or dark side and a level 4 game should apper in 2-player mode Level 4 2-player games Complete every mission for each character (ranking does not matter) and you'll unlock the new kart for them. Simply highlight their picture on the select screen and press Up More Karts Complete every mission as a character with A ranking on every one of them (extremely difficult) and that character will obtain a new costume to use in 2P Battles. New 2P Costumes Win all 3 Block Canyon races Rattle Chao Toy Beat the story. Scene Select.
