SimCity (1989) Cheats For Amiga

  1. Make citizens think they don't pay tax

Throughout the year, have tax be at 0%. Right before tax collection, raise it to 20%. The citizens will think they aren't paying taxes and will be very happy, even though you are getting 20% of their money. When taxes are collected, switch it back to 0%.

SimCity (1989) Cheats For PC

  1. Free Money

Hold Shift and type ''FUND''. Do this 3 times, then save and reload your city.

  2. No maintenance costs on railroads.

Normally in your budget you have to pay 100% for transport in order to prevent the roads/rails from deteriorating. If you drop it to 0%, then most the railroad tracks and roads will go away. However, the bits of railroad that have electric power lines going over them will stay!

In order to exploit this glitch, build as much railroad as you want, being sure to put a piece of electrical wiring over it. Then set your transport-maintenance cost to 0% and watch as you pay nothing and your railroads do not deteriorate!

SimCity (1989) Cheats For Super Nintendo

  1. 999 extra city maps

There is normally only 999 city maps, but if for any strange reason you need 999 more, here's a way to unlock 999 more maps. Start a new city, and choose any map number, then start the game. Now select the ''Go to Menu'' Icon located at the top of the screen, and choose Start New City without saving. After a short period of time, the map will change, but the number wont.

  2. Get away with not paying funds

As far as I know, Auto-Budget must be off to use this code. When the Budget screen comes up at the end of the year, set all funds to 0%. Now select Go With Figures. Immediately save the game, then reload it. The game should continue as if you set all funds to 100%, but you weren't charged for them on the budget.

  3. 1x1 Airport

Airport too big? Don't use Residentials to reduce the size. Fix it with fire. For some reason the airport can not burn down due to an error in code that sets the fire offset. So do this on a new map or you will have fire start off to the left or right.

Power your airport, and as soon as a plane starts to take off, wait for it to move 2 pixels to the left, and force a plane crash disaster. The Airport should be on fire. Let it burn until there is only 1 pixel left.

  4. Duplicate Gifts

Normally, you can only receive a finite number of any kind of gift, but through this glitch it is possible to obtain them infinitely! You'll need two cities saved for this: one which you want the extra gifts in (I'll call it City 1) and one you will use for "create" the gifts for this glitch (I'll call it City 2). Once you want a gift on City 1, load up the file for City 2 and meet the condition for that gift (a list of such conditions can be found in an FAQ): for example, if I wanted a Police HQ, I would build six Police Departments.

Once you meet the condition, go into your Map menu and wait several minutes; during these few minutes, the pop up for Dr. Wright telling you about the gift would normally appear, but you effectively stop that by using the map. After a while, press X to leave that menu, and then immediately load the City 1 file (do not return to normal gameplay in City 2). Immediately on loading City 1, you should receive the gift, even if you're normally unable to.

  5. Rio de Janeiro Scenario Cheat

Before you start the Rio de Janeiro scenario (at the telefax screen), immediately hold the L button before you start. Keep holding the L button, and then bulldoze every square of shoreline. After you have bulldozed them, release the L button. Now you can play the scenario without the flood actually occurring.

  6. Stop the meltdown from happening in the Boston scenario.

Before you start the Boston 2010 scenario (at the telefax screen,) immediately hold the L button before you start. Keep holding the L button, and then bulldoze the three nuclear power plants. After you have bulldozed them, release the L button and rebuild the three plants. Now you can play the scenario without the meltdown actually occurring.

  7. Debug Menu

Load or start a new city, then choose END from the Save/Load menu. When the "See you soon!" screen appears, press the following on controller 2: Left, A, Right, Y, Up, B, Down, X, Select, Start, Start, Select, R, R, L, L. Press Up or Down to scroll through the options, and press Left or Right to toggle them on or off. To activate the selected features, change MEMORY to SET and reset the SNES (they will remain active even if you power off). To deactivate everything, go back into the menu, change MEMORY to CLR, and press B.

  8. $999,999

At any time while playing a city, spend all of your money on buildings that require funding (such as police stations, fire stations etc). When the tax screen apears at the end of December hold down L. Select ''Go With Figures'' and then go back to the tax screen. Turn all of the dues to 100% and exit still holding L. When you release L your money will be at $999,999.

SimCity (1989) Cheats For NES

  1. Boston Scenario - Avoid Nuclear Meltdown

Soon after starting the Boston scenario, the nuclear power plants in the area meltdown, which is the primary thing you seek to contend with in this scenario. You can circumvent this entirely - as the scenario loads, hold the B button, and, holding B the entire time, destroy all of the power plants. Let some time pass, and you can safely rebuild them without the threat of a meltdown, making the scenario way easier to deal with.

  2. Rio de Janeiro Scenario - Avoid the Flood

Not long after the Rio de Janeiro scenario starts, a massive flood occurs. You can circumvent this entirely by holding B at the start of the scenario and bulldozing away all of the shorelines. Dr. Wright will still inform you that a flood is occurring but, provided you remove all of the shoreline, there shouldn't be a flood, circumventing the main difficulty of this scenario.

  3. Two Extra Scenarios

To unlock two further scenarios, complete the six scenarios initially presented to you. You will be given the Las Vegas scenario and the Freeland scenario. The NES prototype is somewhat buggy and both scenarios doesn't meant to be playable at all. There is no UFO disaster in the Las Vegas scenario, no programmed goals or win conditions. Same for the Freeland scenario except it doesn't even properly initialized at start so you'll get a glitch amount of money and semi-random set of available presents.

  4. Play Scenarios Longer Than Intended

Most scenarios in Sim City are timed. In the NES prototype, however, you can save during a scenario and reload that file. This completely erases any sort of ending time for the scenario, allowing you to effectively start with a premade city and play it indefinitely.

  5. Clear SRAM Data

To clear your saved data, press A+B+Left+Up on Controller 2 while at the title screen.

  6. Debug Mode

During gameplay, in any mode, at any message window, do the following:

    - At the same time, press A+B on Controller 2, and all of the D-Pad buttons on any combination of Controllers 1 and 2. (You can, for example, press Up+Left on Controller 1 and Down+Right on Controller 2.)

    - Next, release all of these buttons.

    - Next, hold the same D-Pad button at the same time on both controllers: for example, hold Up on Controllers 1 and 2 together.

    - Next, press any other D-Pad button on Controller 1.

    - Next, exit the message window by pressing either A or B on Controller 1.

A message "I AM GOD I WISH YOU HAPPY" will scroll across the screen if the cheat was entered correctly. This toggles the debug mode for this game, which makes some changes to the game: it costs nothing to build anything, and you can place any building anywhere, even on top of other buildings, without problems (known as zone stacking).

Note that zone stacking can cause glitches if abused heavily. In any event, to disable the debug mode, if you so choose, repeat the button sequence at a message screen again.

  7. Money Underflow

Once you have a Bank in your city, take out a loan, set your taxes to 0%, your maintenance for transport/etc. to 100%, and spend all of the money you can. You want to assure that, at the end of the year, after maintenance costs, you do not have sufficient funds to pay back the loan. When this happens, the game ends up underflowing the amount of cash you have, giving you hundreds of thousands of dollars instead!

  8. Gifts

By meeting certain conditions during the building of your city, you may obtain gifts to serve special purposes in your city.

Note that while this NES prototype is very similar to the SNES version, this is one of the aspects in which there are marked differences.

Finally, the Extra Land and Library gifts are not awarded unless you go to Dr. Wright in the options menu.
