Underrated; have to get into it.
Graphics: They're not -quite- the best but they're not horrible. One of the early NES games, everything is actually neatly drawn out. Really no confusion on what is what, the shading on most of the surroundings is very n... Read Full Review

Metroid is a great classic. Those that didn't play it already though: Pick up Metroid: Zero Mission instead.
From GS review I wanted to add my comments in a review: I'm marking this as a Old-School; If you can't tolerate an old school game then skip to the last paragraph otherwise, read on; I'll slam the negatives: Navig... Read Full Review

When I was growing up and playing games on my NES I never thought I'd find such an adventure in a game as I would with Metroid. I remember going to Toys R' Usâ„¢ and getting the game myself with money I had recieved for c... Read Full Review

The exploration of Zebes begins
Metroid, like Mega Man, is very non linear and innovative. Where as Mega Man had you choose which level you wanted to start at, Metroid let you explore the planet at your leisure and search for items to help you in your ... Read Full Review

Don't waste your time playing this old-timer trash. You are better off using it playing better, quality games.
This game has bad graphics, bad sound, bad gameplay, annoying interface, annoying attributes, and has a truly BORING REPETITIVE TRASHY gameplay. The graphics are 2-d and absolutely hideous, with bland shades of blue, ora... Read Full Review

If you're looking for a tough as nails, but highly addictive video game, look no further.
Metroid came out in 1986 for the NES and became really the first well known, and maybe first game to have a kick ass female hero. For anyone who played the game, Nintendo even said Samus was a "he" in the manual, thought... Read Full Review

Just as fun as it was back in the days
I don't know why some magazines and websites have given this game mediocre scores. It plays more or less the same as the origional Metroid back in the days. Looks like it too, and is just as fun as it was back then. ... Read Full Review

A great game.
What can I not say about the Old School Metroid? Graphics: For its time (And it was one of the first game released), it was a great game with even greater graphics. At least a 9 on the Graphics table. Gameplay: Simply,... Read Full Review
