I don't know, but I would hope so, a new Xbox would be great. As for Bioshock on the Ps3, why should I care ? It has been out so long, that most people who didn't own an xbox played it on PC. Plus we Got Bango and Koozie coming out :)
okay so we all know there is all gonna be a new xbox in 2010 BUT is it going to be an upgraded xbox 360 like the elite OR is it gonna be a whole new xbox and by that i mean xbox 3. One more thing, what are your opinons on BioShock on the paystation? (i forgot the L on purpose)PSfanboy101
how is it the paystation when xbox cost more than anything for extra stuff you need to play?
angryguywalking..

Q4 2010 is extremely likely. I think Microsoft will stay with the same formula of 3 boxes. Given the obvious fact that digital distribution is the future of gaming/movies and music, storage is the key. So, I believe the 3 options to consumers will be the following.
All systems will allow external HDDs/HDD servers via 1394 or USB2.0 to allow for larger disk space as needed. Every game in the library offer online distribution. I wouldn't hold my breath for X-Box or X-Box 360 backwards compatiblity....However it no doubt will have built in 802.11n wi-fi. Meh, that's all I have for now :)
Haha, 2 years and you think they'll jump their console to 500-1TB drives? Yeah right! 250 max...AddictedToMe
Yes, I do indeed. You can buy a 3.5" 500GB internal HDD for less than $100 these days, 1TB HDDs go for about $200. In 2yrs, those prices will be about the same for the 2.5" HDDs Microsoft will put in the console. I don't know why you find it so hard to believe.....

What extra stuff?? I bought my $400 Xbox 360.... and I play with it all the time. I haven't had to buy anything else to play it.

The earliest we will see a new xbox is 2012.

Because they can make SO much more money if they stay low and release more expensive 320GB HDDs and 500GB HDDs down the road and they WILL do that.
IDK realy, the last system i was excited about getting was the N64. now i just wait till they come out and buy them.
oh and you know ps4 wont be out for another 8 years according to sony! * snickers*
10 year life cycle my butt.... as soon as the next box comes out nintendo and sony will get there colsols out within a year of it...

It's possible they would go with lower numbers. After all, the majority console gamers aren't quite up to speed with digital distribution. It's a new concept for console gamers and obviously going take time to adjust to, as mostly a PC gamer it's possible I got ahead of myself. I suppose I would hope console gaming would take a giant leap instead of baby steps. Either way, 2yrs is a very long time as far as hardware is concerned. I still believe Microsoft will offer a box with HDD only support and all titles will be available for digital distribution.
Like I said it wont come out untill at least 2011-2012. Developers haven't yet even taken full advantage of the multithreading capabilities of the system. It still has potential. Plus these new consoles were so expensive to develop that they have to extend their life on the shelf to see any profit from them. So 2010 seem way to early. 2011-2012 more likely.

Yeah, I'm not saying it wouldn't be completely awesome and smart if they went your route, it's just that the gaming industry is so into money and all that jazz.

Well, if you want to use your console on a wireless network (like many people do... I would even venture to say the majority) you have to spend an extra $100 on the network adapter. That alone makes the 360 more expensive than the PS3.
Even the freakin' Wii has built-in wirless... it's bs. I refuse to spend $100 on M$'s adapter so I'm using the netgear one I bought for my original Xbox. It works, but I have to do a connection test every time I start the console up... I guarantee M$ could make the majority of ethernet adapters fully compatable with a simple firmware update, but they won't do it because they want everyone to shell out for an overpriced adapter (seriously, $100 is a complete ripoff).
When I bought the 360 I thought it had built-in wireless... honestly, if I had known it didn't I would have bought a PS3, but that's my fault for assuming it was a next-gen system and not doing my research (yes, "next gen" means more to me than graphics... though I seem to be in a minority with that opinion).
Also, $50 a year for online vs free online. You can argue about which has the best online all day, but the simple fact is that, yes, the Xbox is actually more expensive... unless you just want to play single player or split screen all the time. If that's the case, then you're right... you don't have to pay for anything else besides games. But the 360 is all about the online, and using that online has additional fees that the PS does not have.
