I finaly got mine to createbut my friend still cant get on.
i cant recover my account :( ( i used mine at a friends house...) To make things worse i dont have any saved data, i lost all my xbla titles and i cant even play the videos i downloaded from the marketplace :(. I really wanna play Guitar Hero III right about now...
i actually managed to have my dashboard load, sign in, and play cod 4. all i did was just stop playin for like an hr. and turn my xbox off. :) maybe it worked
I haven't had any serious problems, so this suggestion of mine most likely would not work. But try to use the test connection in the last panel where the console's menu's at. I know myoptinum occasionally, as in once every two to three weeks, shuts down on me, both on my computer and the game, and when I did that little test, I got a code to call customer service (since all my connections were ok). Who knows, maybe you didn't connect the ethernet correctly.
Speaking of live issues, if I play music while having my headphones on, will that music be heard to the others? I'm not super sure, and is it bad ettiquete to play music while having your headphones on?
its weird, i can play games on live without a problem generally and when i press the guide button in a game i can see all my friends, messages etc, but the livedashboard usually decides just not to load...
I think LIVE is back up. At least I was finally able to join CoD4 matches and see what all the hype with matchmaking is. (I got this game Friday, and there was already problems then too)

Ill tell ya what, this is no easy problem to fix or else it would have been fixed already. People are very unhappy right now and it has been that long yet. Microsoft better try real hard to fix this or they are gonna have problems.

If you are playing music and you have a mic, everybody will hear it, and it is in fact bad etiquette. People who play music, or sing, or make other annoying noises into their microphone are part of the reason that I don't even bother to plug in my microphone, I don't want to hear people.
IMO people just need to chill out and relax..... I have had xbox live for over 4 years and the last few weeks have been the worst problems ive ever seen on xbox live in that time. So it sure doesnt happen often, sure there are some problems now but lets just stick with Microsoft and give them a chance to fix there mistake and hopefully keep it up and running.
Like i said, this is the first time ive had any problems with xbox live in 4+ years, overall its a very reliable service in that time.
I keep losing the connection in Halo 3 as soon as all the player slots are filled. Is this part of the problem? Any help would be appreciated.
Of course, it's just my luck that this happens during my 30-day trial.

Yes its an xbox live problem, alot of people are experiencing problems either with: Match making in games, transfering an account, using marketplace, etc..
well its weird because it seems like all these problems occur during the day (at leart for me) and then when it gets to the evening hours it works fine
Down again today... what is this, 4 days straight... when is it ok to complain? I don't usually say much about it, and tell people to be patient... but 4 days... isn't that a bit much for a paid service?
Okay I've been having this problem for months now and it still hasn't been fixed.
I can play Gears or War fine online, as well as other games like GH3, but there are others that just don't work at all. For example Halo 3, The COD 4 beta (when it was running), Fifa 07, Fifa 08 and the burnout paradise demo. Basically what happens is I select a multiplayer option and the games always says that it's attempting to connect to the server. In some games it says that it failed to connect and in others it just stays on the connecting screen forever.
Please can someone give me any advice of what I should do?

Edit: Seems to be working for me too also Im in the us. This still ticks me off though because its very hard to get a solid game going if xbl always crashes
I woke up this morning and managed to get online for 1 match in Smackdown vs Raw but then I got disconnected and have been disconnected since. I thought the problems were over but I guess not. So what exactly is going on? Has Xbox addressed the issue yet?

I was playing Gears the yesterday and it worked fine, but I've been getting randomly disconnected from Live during singleplayer games, so half of my CoD4 campaign achievements don't show the date and time.
