I play my games either for fun and competitio(sports) or for a cool light strory. The story can bea little gloom but Bioshock is going too far imo..Killing Little Sisters is a great moral question but not one I want to face playing a video game, i also dont wanna hear the death of little girls either...Some will love this game but I dont hink its for me or a lot of other people...Seems to for hardcore guys...
its not so much a light story but not so dark of a story...I like the story in Halo and it isnt dark for ex...also Mass Effect's story seems fun and open as well...
And i watch all kinds of movies except for those excessively gorey one(although I have been coerced into watching some)
Its just that I like my games a certain way most of the time...Im telling you there will be a lot of people like me who will be a ;itt;e taken a back by the concept..
Ill give it a chance with the demo but I doubt I will like it

Eternal Darkness was weird, but in a super-cool-awesome-tastic way.
But no one's forcing you to buy Bioshock. Some people like Bioshock, some like Super Princess Peach:). :|But seriously, some people do like SPP, that last sentence wasn't directed toward you, just in general.
Bioshock promises an intrigueing (misspelled) and immersive storyline that willhave concequences for every decision you make and adds and emotional element. Why is this a bad thing to you?
I understand where you're coming from since some of my friends have the same attitude. My advice would be to not play it if you feel it's not suitable for you but you'll be missing something great IMO.
its not really contacting...i think it a cool idea and if they did it with a different story then Id be the first one in line to play it...
But your right different people have different prefences i guess...One thing I will say is it looks like a very well done game and should be great for those who are interested in it..
i think it is a unique idea and mature. so what it takes a different path than aliens invade or ww2. thats what really makes games good being creative so just give the demo a chance when it comes out and see if you like it. if you dont like it congrats its a unique game and cant suit everyones taste
At first I didn't think this game was for me and I wasn't going to play it but after reading the previews and the constant hype behind it I think I'm going to check it out. It looks fun with a really engaging story.
Well i cant w8 for this game...but u have a right to ur own opinion...dont take too long if ur thinking about buyin this friggin badass game imo...cuz it will be sold out soon after its release ;)
Yeah it looks a little wierd. It's violent and odd and in a unfamilier location. It looks like it might be too open ended for my taste but only some time alone with it will le me know. If you think killing little evil girls is wrong, play through thr Darkness in one night. I did it last weekend and I still feel dirty.
I can see where the TC is coming from. Some people just like to have fun with their videogames, and want to escape the reality of this ridiculous world. There's so much negativity and so many bad things happening in the world everyday, I could see how some people wouldn't want that crossing over into their videogames. On the other hand, Bioshock just looks too dirty to even worry about that...I have to play it regardless.

P.S. Seriously though I think that it may not be a bright sunshiney tale of love, but I think most people will really enjoy it if they give it a chance.
Dude have you even seen those little girls? They are sooo creepy. I do respect your opinion that the game is too dark for you, you're probably a happy little girl and don't need all this violence. Seriously get this game it might be game of the year and you're having your stupid moral dillema about killing children, first of all ITS A GAME you're not really killing children you're killing pixelated drawings, secondly you DONT HAVE TO kill the girls, you can save them. Also no need to make a topic about this, if you don't want to buy the game don't, why do you need other people to agree with you that the game is weird?
I don't really like games like Bioshock or Condemmed or anything along those lines. I do crap on them because i don't like the horror! I won't even consider the game because it's not my thing.
And what makes you think that Mass Effect isn't gonna have a dark storyline? The backstory alone is way dark. Hell, I don't see how you can say Halo didn't have a 'dark' story.
I'm not ragging on your opinion, but you're basically saying that you don't wany storytelling in video games to evolve, and you're mixing up 'pro-human' with 'not dark'.
nah its not my cup of tea...and games like this dnt scare me...just arent enjoyable...i just wanted to see if I was the only one with that opinion..
And to the person who said I dont want sotrytelling to evolve...that is totally wrong. I would love for them to evolve I jusdt dont like this particular story from what I see...Didnt mean to get all your panties in a bunch...
