They've been using the "no one gets this kind or response" card for years, man? They want them to say "No one gets the cheers" but they can't because there's that vocal "**** You Cena" chant.

It actually used to be true, too. Love him or hate him, there was a time when EVERYone in the crowd responded to Cena and his matches (Oftentime 75% negatively, but who's counting?). There have been times that Cena matches are worth watching just for the crowd (Its the ONLY reason to watch Cena-Trips I). These days its rather hollow, which has never stopped them before especially Cole. He doesn't generate near the sheer passion he used to,

I guess you could say that its "VINTAGE COLE!" *thumbs up*

Oh, well he said what I said already as Cena was entering the match. Perhaps I look too deeply into things, but I know it isn't the first time they've tried to replace The Rock with Cena.

Cena is getting massacred right now by Orton..he has welts all over him from the stick beating Orton gave him. AND HE'S BREAKING FREE! HA, I knew it.

BTW, How the hell did My Man Zeke outlast The Brian Kendrick?The_Dude14
I am guessing that is a reterical question, because, otherwise, we both know the answer to that one.

By the way, why do you keep reffering to Zeke as "my man"? Some sort of reference that I am missing?

Looks like my prediction of Orton winning is really flipping a 180..I don't see Orton breaking out like Cena did..although there are alternatives.

Oh dear..Orton loses to Cena via STF with the cuff chain around his throat. One of Orton's and Cena's hands were both cuffed together.

They've definately tried it. If he used the word "electrfying," I'd definately understand where you're coming from.

They've also tried to make him Austin a bunch of times. A really lame, corporate Stone Cold... which, of course, make me wonder how much they actually understood Austin's appeal?

No love for the "vintage"?

That was what THE Brian Kendrick called him. If you had a problem with THE Brian Kendrick, you were to take it up with My Man Zeke.

If its good enough for THE Brian Kendrick, its good enough for me.

I prefer Cena over Orton. He's overrated, yes, but with Cena you get new challengers just about every PPV, and I find him more entertaining to watch.

For all the **** Cole receives for his commentary (rightfully so, I might add), the guy at least has emotion, even if it is annoying fake emotion.

Striker, on the other hand, awesome as he is, is one step away from being a glorified robot.

J.R. is the only truly great commentator right now.

Lawler is a terrible heel, Striker is a bit annoying, Todd Grisham sounds like he's trying to force out emotion, Justin Roberts is annoying, and Michael Cole is Michael Cole.

Justin Roberts is not a commentator, but okay.

Otherwise, IMHO, JR-Striker would be a dream team, because you would have best of both worlds.

... Not that it is going to happen.

So the champ has returned, at the Viper's expense. Sounded like a good match, hope to see the highlights soon. Now, time for Punk to retain.

An awesome robot that references Street Fighter.

I think that's one of the things I like about Striker, honestly. Let the play-by-play guy hit the emotional aspect, while Striker chimes in with his cool, calculated, often fairly heelish analysis. I certainly prefer it to a Don West-gasm, King's chuckle and lechery or Tazz's King impersonation... or whatever the hell it is he does on commentary these days.

... I really don't have any complains about Smackdown's announce team. Grish has grown on me (I'm trying to figure out when he got better than Cole or did Cole just get worse than him? There was a time (02-03) where I really enjoyed Cole's commentary... maybe that was just the matches he was calling) and I rather like JR as the color guy.

EDIT: And I've had a man crush on Josh Matthews ever since he busted out a (well deserved) Holy **** for London-Akio.

Ah, Velocity. The memories.

Oops, not Justin Roberts. I mean Josh Matthews.

And yes, I like Striker, but sometimes he just sounds like an 8 year old at his first pro wrestling show, which could be good or bad.

The thing is, I would argue Josh cannot even sell emotion worth a damn either, and IMHO, it really hurt Christian's big return several months back.

... Not that kind of thing happens on ECW often, because it does not, however, the point is...I am not sure what exactly the point is...but I think these things are worth pointing out...

I think returning to ECW hurt Christian's return more than anything.

I get what you're saying with ECW. How much is there to really get emotional about on ECW? I do wish they would get an opportunity to do more than one match per PPV.

Ah well, maybe Striker will get the Rumble. I could love a JR, Cole and Striker Rumble. Or even a JR, King and Striker Rumble.

If its Cole and King, I will shoot something. Why does that team exist?

Taker made Punk submit via Hell's Gate, Long comes out saying the move was banned by Vickie a long time ago and that the match continues. Punk cheapshots Taker, puts Taker into the Vice, and the ref rang the bell immediately when Taker didn't really submit. I think Teddy was in on it, it was like what happened to Bret Hart in Montreal.

Well, The Undertaker originally made Punk tap out to Hell's Gate to win the title. Then, Teddy Long said that Hell's Gate is banned, so they restarted the match. Punk instantly got Anaconda Vise, but 'Taker didn't tap. However the ref rang the bell anyways, and Punk ran away. Teddy came out and him, Punk, and 'Taker had a staredown to end the show. Teddy Long is now heel, and Punk is still champ.

I found this sorta of amusing:

Punk celebrates at the top of the ramp while Long, dressed in all white to contract Taker's all black, stands stone-faced. Taker totally needs to write T N A in the air.Chris Lansdell of 411

That's what Taker does to people. Even when you win against Taker, you lose (or if you're Kane, you just lose).

Ultimately, this doesn't ruin Punk. Its where they go from here that will tell the tale (and honestly, Punk should be able to rebuild himself. Seems like he's won the E over, so he could pull an Orton and not end up on the scrap heap, or maybe an Edge and come out look okay). The story of this match is going to be the 165,758,624,127th Screwjob retread since 97, not CM Punk and his performance.

And hopefully, this will be the bottom part of the feud, not the highlight.

Did I, like, pull an "0 for" on my predictions? Did I get anything right?

I believe both you and I had the correct prediction with JeriShow, and Cena wins.

Otherwise, in regards to predictions, it was a bad night for the both of us.

Edit: Oh, and you correctly predicted the Kofi win as well.
