I'm thinking more along the lines of Rhodes and DiBiase get a tandem submission onto HHH and he taps. No way a single person could make him tap out.

Maybe, but with it being DX, Michaels could be cheered.

He was cheered at Unforgiven 2006 during DX's Hell in a Cell Match. However that was in Toronto so whether or not that makes any difference, who knows?

It has been TWELVE Years since the Screwjob. WWE's target audience wasn't even alive.

At least with Shawn Micahels, I was thinking more along the lines of crossface.

hmm, crossface in Canada?

BTW hasn't many of the WWE fans nowadays forgotten Bret Hart (until the SvR comes out) or even the Montreal Screwjob?

Not to mention, apparently, the IC title match is a "main event match".Link256

Maybe WWE should just say every important match, but then that would be all of them with it being a PPV, so I don't know.:?

Seeing as how the match is a title match, I see how is labeled as "main event" Just like in MMA or boxing mathces, every title match is a main event

singapore cane match.... really what a wasted space if kofi doesnt get on the card again because of this feud makes the us belt look like the cruiserweight belt. only to be defended on tv and have the odd ppv appearance

Morrison Vs. Ziggy-ler, is going to hopefully be good, and then the Kane Vs. Khali matchs have to end and they most likly will at HiaC PPV, but that match shouldn't even happen, I agree with Bulletproof, that Kofi should really be on the Card, along with one Diva's or Women's Championship match most likly it will be Micke's Diva's Championship with her faceing Beth Pheonix.

But likey I think I will pass on this PPV.

This PPV seems so sloppy to me, it's beggining to feel like December to Dismember.

No Women's Match. 2 Titles for them. Nothing.
No US Title Match.
4 days until the PPV, ECW Match JUST booked.

I have a feeling that WWE will book these matches on the spot, which is completely ridiculous when they have 3+ weeks to do it. It's a very bad start to the first ever Breaking Point.

Not having the United States Championship defended on PPV tells me one thing.

Vince hates America.

That comparison is a bit harsh. D2D was an unmitigated disaster that WWE would have to outright try and top (I suppose the more proper term would be bottom). They also had forever to build to it. They made a calculated choice to focus entirely on the EEC. Then, they made a decidedly less calculated choice to throw away all the interesting aspects of the EEC which resulted in D2D being the unmitigated, irreconcilable disaster that it was. A show so bad, it caused Paul Heyman to quit.

And honestly, I was a lot more excited about D2D (right up until Lashley showed up, that was where it all started to fall apart) than I am Breaking Point. I was actually thinking about going. Worst case scenario was that you get two quality matches in Hardys-MNM and the EEC. But, the EEC would take up a third of the PPV, would have RVD, Sabu and Punk and weapons inside the Chamber. How could that possibly go wrong?

I should of known better (and I did catch on once Lashley showed up). I know I should have known better. I mean after all, its the WWF vs WCW. It can't fail.

No Women's Match. 2 Titles for them. Nothing. Dark_Hylian8
Are you complaining that there's not a Women's title match? That's a good thing, IMO. Didn't seem to bother anyone at Summerslam.
4 days until the PPV, ECW Match JUST booked.Dark_Hylian8
It has been built, though. They simply clarified the "when." Last minute ECW matches aren't exactly new to PPV, either.

Not having the United States Championship defended on PPV tells me one thing.

Vince hates America.Dark_Hylian8

That would explain why its just The Bash now, wouldn't it.

Right or wrong, the US Title doesn't deserve to be on PPV, right now. Raw spends absolutely no time in doing anything with the Division, because they are far too busy with whatever the hell it is they think is important on Raw. And honestly, its not as though the no US Title thing is unique to Breaking Point. It hasn't been on a lot of PPVs. And when it has, the reults have been underwhelming (like that sloppy ass 4-Way at One Night Stand).

I'm not sure what my point is, thus far. I think I mostly wanted to do the D2D rant. I'm not sure why I'm defending this dumbass PPV. I guess because its not really all that poorly built compared to, ya know, the rest of WWE's PPVs this year and for the most part, those shows have turned out all right. This one may not because of the dumbass concept, but the build-up isn't really that much worse than the other PPVs.

And worst case scenario for this show is still better than D2D... unless WWE goes out of its way to sabatoge the show, like CM Punk getting pulled in favor of Khali for the World Title match.

Jim Ross on Breaking Point: What "Breaking Point" bout will be the show stealer? Beats me as I write this. The Price is Raw concept was clever but did it overshadow the selling of what is likely to be one of the more unique PPV's of '09? Has any got any info on whether the Undertaker has ever submitted in his WWE tenure? I can't recall it. The Anaconda Vice vs the Devil's Gate seems to be the story in the 'Taker-Punk title tilt. Yes, I'm familiar with the "Vice." Anxious to know the rules of the Kane-Khali Singapore Cane match. Cane on a pole, perhaps? I'm just saying..or asking.

You guys are going to be pissed.

On the Breaking Point section of WWE.com, The Intercontinental Title match between John Morrison and Dolph Ziggler has been removed. Jim Ross also noted in his most recent blog that the match will take place at a later date.

I can only assume this is due to time-constraints, which is ridiculous that they didn't take out Khali-Kane.

What is more ridiculous is that if it is a time-constraint issue, kind of thing should have figured out BEFORE booking the match, not AFTER.

Not to mention, the match was cancelled when there only 4 days left until the PPV airs.

That sucks, and this isn't the first time I read this, I also saw the one a few post up.

I also think this Sucks, Oh wait I already said that. :P

But anyway Dolph Ziggler Vs. John Morrison would of been epic, my only guess is, Ziggler and Morrison haven't had a good rivalry, and/or not enough build up to the match.

I think that is crap they pulled it off. It could be also an error on WWE parts because history have shown of them changing, adding, deleting things down left and right. So hopefully it'll come back on.

Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship - Submission Match
The Undertaker vs. CM Punk (c)

Thoughts: The only hope in hell Punk has here is for submission via pass-out, and even than, there gonna have to be some BS to get to that point. Otherwise, this one is ending in a no contest, or Taker going over. Whatever the case, I think it is safe to say Taker is not doing a legit tap-out here.

Result: No Contest

1. Cena: Cena's not going to say "I Quit" and I don't know how they could pull a Rock-Mankind.

2. Undertaker: Its not just Taker. Its Taker's return match. He will not tap, he will not pass out. We'll be lucky if he sells for Punk, at all. The best hope is that they go to a no contest, somehow. I doubt that one, too. Is there a finish to this match in which Punk lose but maintain some dignity? Will WWE use it? I don't know. Wasn't "The Deadly Submission" banned by Vickie Guerrero? Did that ever get overturned? I'm hoping Punk gets in a good showing, but passes out in Undertaker's submission. Taker gets the decisive win, but Punk can play the "i never tapped" card, possibly to a banned move, for a rematch or even a Dusty finish.

3. DX: Honestly, I'm not excessively confident in this one. Submissions count anywhere opens this one up for something funky... like locking Trips in a trunk and doing a double submission on Shawn and two and a half hours later, after the show has gone off the air, Shawn finally taps out. However, betting against DX just ain't smart, so I'm not going to. Because we all know if wrestling were real, HBK would never tap out and Trips would Incredible Hulk his way out of the trunk to make the save.

4. Jerishow: Pretty confident in this one. MVP and Henry don't even have the momentum Cryme Tyme had.

5. Khali: And let this ****ing feud die.

6. Regal: Seriously, WWE needs to free Christian of the belt and call him up (to Smackdown) and Regal makes for an interesting ECW Champion, saddled with two big turds or not.

7. Kofi: I actually want Mizanin to win this (Man, have I done a 180 on him or what?). He might, but it sure seems sloppy.

However, at the same time, I will make it a point to say something the effect of the following from now on:

I don't even think you need to do that, the card is seemingly finalized the Tuesday before the PPV most of the time, but this is a slightly rare circumstance.

Otherwise, I find it very strange they took Morrison/Dolph off the card and later replaced it with Miz/Kofi. Throws out my time constraint theory.

Here are my predictions:

Randy Orton vs John Cena
I Quit Match
No interference for Orton or he loses the Championship
WWE Championship
Winner: Randy Orton by DQ. I have a strange feeling that Brett DiBiase will attack Orton, just so he can retain.

Undertaker vs CM Punk
Submission Match
World Heavyweight Championship
Winner: Undertaker by DQ. CM Punk attacks the referee to retain.

D-Generation X vs Legacy
Submissions Count Anywhere
Winner: D-Generation X with a double tap out. I predict alot of stage decoration submissions.

JeriShow vs Mark Henry and MVP
Unified Tag Team Championship
Winner: JeriShow by submission. Double Team submission on Henry.

Christian vs William Regal
ECW Championship
Winner: William Regal by Pinfall.

Kane vs The Great Khali
Singapore Cane Match
Winner: The Great Khali with collossal singapore beatdown and pin.

Kofi Kingston vs The Miz
United States Championship
Winner: The Miz with a pin.

- Dolph Ziggler vs. John Morrison was pulled from the Breaking Point card because WWE could not come up with a finish for the match, possibly due to not wanting more than one screwjob finish on the same show, which may end up relating to CM Punk vs. The Undertaker. Adding Kofi Kingston vs. The Miz was a late decision. The plan as of now is to have Ziggler vs. Morrison at the Hell in the Cell PPV in three weeks, though that could change. The original plan was to have the Undertaker beat CM Punk at the PPV tomorrow, but sentiment backstage now is that the timing is wrong for that, so the match may end up with a screwjob finish, setting up a Hell in the Cell match between the two in three weeks.

- Most expect John Cena to win the WWE Title tomorrow night.

Taker gets the decisive win, but Punk can play the "i never tapped" card, possibly to a banned move, for a rematch or even a Dusty finish.The_Dude14
I will take that as you were talking to me there, if only indirectly, seeing how I believe I am the only one here talking about the possibility of pass-out victory in the Taker-Punk match. Even if you were not, may as well respond, regardless. For the record, what I meant by that is that some BS gonna have to happen, in order to get to the point of pass-out submission victory (i.e. interference, weapons, cheating, etc.).

In regards to predictions, since Taker/Punk ending is a big topic, just remember that if it's a BS ending like Punk attacking the ref (I noticed someone mentioned it), then that means TAKER wins via DQ (since that same person bolded Punk's name). Just make sure to get your predictions straight.

...Oh, and did I mention that for these predictions if you get the right outcome of Taker/Punk right, you get TWO points in addition to picking the right winner.

I could have sworn Submission matches our No DQ, but maybe I am mistaken on that.

Why would a submission match be No DQ? I mean, it could be, but besides the fact that there are no pinfalls, doesn't mean they still can't get DQ'd. It's a submission match (where you can only WIN cleanly by submitting your opponent), not a street fight.

The only No DQ Submission Match I can think of is Bret vs. Austin at WM 13. Otherwise, submission matches can end via DQ, no contest, count out (maybe), death via Punk pwnage, etc.

Personally, I just cannot remember submission match ever ending in DQ.

Again, I could be mistaken.

Well, according to Extreme Rules, Submission matches don't even have ****ing rope breaks, so who the hell knows?

As always, WWE will do whatever the hell they want. If they want the I Quit match to end by pinfall, then dammit, they will do it.

Take this for whatever it is worth, but according to Wikpedia, it says, and I quote, "...match that can only be won by making their opponent submit".

WWE Championship - I Quit Match
Randy Orton (c) vs. John Cena

In the main event, Cena locks in the STFU and makes Orton say, "I Quit."

World Heavyweight Championship - Submission Match
The Undertaker vs. CM Punk (c)

I have no idea, all I know is that there's no chance in hell that 'Taker is tapping out...or winning this match.

Submissions Count Anywhere Match
DX vs Legacy

Triple H makes either Rhodes or DiBiase tap to the Sharpshooter.

Unified Tag Team Championship
Mark Henry and MVP vs. Chris Jericho and Big Show (c)

Jerishow retains.

Singapore Cane Match
Kane vs. The Great Khali

Khali defeats Kane to (hopefully) end this feud.

ECW Championship
Christian (c) vs William Regal (with Vladamir Koslov and Ezekiel Jackson)

Regal wins with interference to get Christian out of ECW.

United States Championship
Kofi Kingston(c) vs The Miz

The Miz wins to end the magical, full-of-upsets reign of Kofi Kingston.
