Season 2 Episode 8: The Mysterious Mare Do Well.*spoilers*

for those who are wondering what the episode is about, here's a synopsis. its a nother rainbow dash episode

I was a little iffy through the first half of the episode, but the humor is picking back up.

EDIT: I hate to admit it, but that was one of the few episodes that I didn't really like.  As usual, though, it did have some funny and/or awesome moments (e.g. the return of Pinkie Sense).

The plot felt a bit forced.  Since when is Rainbow Dash Ponyville's exclusive hero?  The pacing felt awkward, and most of the jokes weren't all that funny.  A big "meh" from me.  I really hope this isn't a sign of things to come.

I thought it was good.

Anyone else get the Spiderman reference?

Oh, and I wanted to add:

Can you see Sibsy's influence on Mare Do Well's costume?  Darkwing Duck, anypony? :D 

I thought it was Applejack or Pinkie at first, then when Twilight showed her horn, it was pretty simple to see that all of them were behind it.

But overall the episode was just ok. Nothing really good, nothing bad, just ok.

It was okay and gives some more expansion of Ponyville. I knew at least Applejack, Twilight Sparkle, and Fluttershy were involved. Also like the Spiderman reference.

Even when TC said it wasn't very good, I still didn't like this one. I could see how all of them would be behind it and Rainbow Dash is just a bad character this series so far. Also, it was just boring to watch. 

Sadly disappoint :( 

Yeah, this episode was just okay.

On a more positive note, next week's episode sounds great, and after that we get a Spike episode, and I freaking love Spike.

Sorry if you can't handle opinions

There just wasn't much emotional weight to this episode.  Without that unique quality, it felt like your average cartoon show painted with ponies.

No show is perfect, though.  Stinkers will exist, and hopefully the next ones will make up for it.

Even if that were to be true, how would that be a bright side?  I want things to improve, not make this episode better by default.

That's the spirit!  Plus, I think I'm being a little too down on this episode.  It wasn't abysmal, after all.  Just not that good IMO.

And anything can become good. Just take a look at Saints Row. The first 2 games were terrible, but the third on looks really good. (IMO)

But still, at least this wasn't the worst episode this season.

Rainbow Dash is the new Boast Buster in Season 2 with 2 consecutive episodes she'll get overrated but no matter she's still awesome, they're all awesome.

nice episode! although I already noticed that Mare do well is the others especially in the part when applejack stopped the falling carriage and twilight used Magic with the Purple effects it's definitely her, when Fluttershy flew to show Mare do well can also fly.

Rainbow dash didn't think about mare do well is like Princess luna and Celestia, a Winged unicorn?

And I love this expression Rainbow Dash has in Ep 8.

I liked Cutie Pox, granted, it was uneven, but overall still pretty good. But I'm 5 minutes into this one, and it's...different. IDK.

Here's a timeline:

5 minutes--Eh...OK....

5:14--What's with the gimmick of including sunglasses and a rapper-tilted hat on RD? But Noire Spike...I wanna see an episode like that.

First commerical break--You know, for this writer's first run on the show, she's not doing a bad job. I think she's really going to do good when she gets familiar writing on the show. And if I could do a spoof of MXC using this show, I'd totally use that part where MDW jumps on top of those house. Reminds me of Sinkers and Floaters. Man, I love that show...

8:17--The part about skipping the catchphrase is exactly why that has died out in superhero movies. Great part.

Second Commercial Break--I can see why somepony wouldn't like this episode much. Yet I like it a little. It's my least favorite of the season. But that speaks wonders for the season overall for me. Well, let's finish this thing.

19:07--Great Scooby-Doo reference(sort of) there

19:41--THEY FINALLY BROUGHT BACK PINKIE SENSE

Finished--7/10 for me. Had a lot of misses, but it was still good in my eyes.

It was pretty good.

Some of it actually reminded me of AOSTH. That was kinda cool.

Might as well post my thoughts:

Great ep, but lot of things I was unsure of:

-Ponyville seemed very whacky and out there - RBD fan club? All these accidents? A construction site and damn!? What's with all the modernization? And why's RBD suddenly super man like?
-When your friend seems to be acting cocky and not the way you'd like, maybe you should talk to them first, instead of talking behind their backs and forming some grand scheme to make them alone and disliked, just a thought.
-I was sad Rainbow didn't read her letter to the princess at the end
-Moral was also just kind of weird at the end and felt a little forced

But on the plus side:

-Spike was awesome
-Mare Do Well was awesome
-Got a pretty cool insight into RBD's character, in particular the line that was something along the lines of "I'm awesome, they're all wrong......but then why am I alone? I hate being alone." 

I may be being picky, I sitll did like the ep and would say it's in no way my least favorite MLP ep, but I do think this will be my least favorite Season 2 ep, just liked the others more. 

Yeah, I think we've had enough Rainbow Dash and Rarity episodes for a while. I'd really like to see another Applejack episode, tbh.Bzilla56
