Ok, old-timers feel free to suggest "chapters" and fill in info. I'm going to start out with some chapter ideas and you can make suggestions/post info about DWU History.
CHAPTERS:
LORD_CAL AND THE FOUNDING OF DWU
Long ago, in the ancient land of Gamespot, there was a Hero of great talent, named Lord_Cal. He roamed the land and the mountains, until one day upon Mt. Tai, the Great Mountain, he received a vision from the Mystic of the Mountain, and was told to form a great union upon the slopes. And so, gathering his trusted comrades, he built the Dynasty Warriors Union, and upon the mountain he forged a diadem laden with gold and precious stones, and whosoever possessed this diadem would rule all of the Dynasty Warriors Union. His trusted co-founders were the original Kings of the land, who served Lord_Cal, and they were LittleJonJon88 and TJ_86, and it was rumored LordJinChaos and birdman1414 were among them as well.
DW5FREAK
It these early days, there came to the union, a menace. DW5freak, he called himself, and he would go about and spam the union with his nonsense, and spread dissent. He entered into a feud with another of the Heroes, LuBu01, and they would argue and attempt to get the other banned. Freak would lie and tell fancy tales, until he made his password public, and had his account hijacked by LuBu01.
(It must be remembered that Freak claimed to have been robbed and shot in the ass, and that he was an LA taxi driver. And first he was black... then somehow he decided that he was Fijian. But pegasus_seiya and Scar have talked to him on Skype... and he was a twelve-year-old white boy. There was a feud between freak and lu_bu01. Which included "account hijacking," as well as flame wars and other things).
A-MAN27 ~ Lord of Chaos, Father of Hijacking
In those early days, the land was at peace. But one day a serpent came, and he was the Hero called a-man27. A-man would go around and hijack threads and sew chaos among the followers of Lord_Cal. This spamming and chaos led to the early Kings to flee into the mountains of the west, and they have never been seen since, and going into the west has been a tradition since then for the Heroes whose time has come. But A-man grew in power as his followers increased, until he was struck down mysteriously. He returned as ScarfaceEvaStar soon after, and his powers increased even more. Before long, he led the group of heroes who called themselves the Hijackers, and long would they lord it over the union.
(A-man27 arrived in the very beginning of DWU; as soon as Lord_Cal began to spend nil time on here he began hijacking. I am not sure when he was banned, but his return as ScarfaceEvaStar was sometime in May of 2005. The first yellow text rebellion was around this time, and all of the other text colors arose then as well, ultimately leading to the "Silver Text Rebellion of the Sith," for some reason).
SILVER TEXT REBELLION OF THE SITH
After many months, Lord_Cal was weary with age, and the burden of the Diadem wore heavily on his mind. The Hijackers, many in number and in post, protested that a new leader should be chosen, and that it should be their leader, Scarface. The Hijackers gathered and protested, and there was much turmoil by this. The Hero, LuBu01, spoke to Lord_Cal and warned him that plots were unfolding and chaos engulfing the land, when he heard this, Lord_Cal was angry, and made his presence known to the members of the union, and reasserted his Imperial authority. This was known as the Silver Text Rebellion of the Sith, and it would not be the last such rebellion.
(The first rebellion against an Emperor (known in those days only as Leader), Freak and Lu_Bu01 attempt an uprising, and surprisingly Lu_Bu01's warning to Lord_Cal on his AIM worked to coax him back over here. But is reign was nearly at an end in any case.)
HURT/HEAL: INSTANT DEATH ~
In those early days, there was need for things to do. And so, with the blessings of the Mystics, a game was made by the Hero Chino*****. All were invited to test themselves in epic combat. Many warriors and Heroes came, and there was joy in the slaughter of enemies, and the hearts of the heroes were made glad by this game, and many first earned a reputation for themselves.
(A union game created by Chino**** Essentially a variant on the typical Hurt/Heal game, where healing is only obtained through the hurting of your enemies, and no character starts with any health. All of the principle characters including Lubu, Liu Bei and the sworn brothers, Cao Cao, and others were killed off in the first few posts of the game. The brutal Sun Jian and the honorable Ma Chao dominated the early game, slaying many and making themselves nearly invincible. However, thanks to big_sid_vicious, Sun Jian and Ma Chao began to fight among themselves. What followed was a brutal war in which both were slain. The latter game was dominated by Zhuo Tai and Xiahuo Dun. The game reached 500+ posts but was deleated in a frenzy of destruction designed to protect the union from a GS Mod-investigation.)
A-LOW'S REIGN ~ This happens almost immediately after the Silver Text Rebellion. ScarfaceEvaStar really wanted to be Emperor, and Lu_Bu01 was in support of him, ultimately making a declaration of independence to overthrow A-Low, who had been about as absent as Lord_Cal. Ultimately, Lu_Bu01 and ScarfaceEvaStar simply left the union and created "Hijackers, Inc." Whiterice86 began to troll ScarfaceEvaStar all over this union and his blog, and ultimately reported the union. Scar and Lu tried to delete all of the topics but, amazingly, the links that Whiterice86 provided showed an offensive post by Lu_Bu01, quoted by ScarfaceEvaStar, causing ScarfaceEvaStar to be banned. Lu_Bu01 gave Scar his alt account, Zhao_Yun64, but Scar returned as nobuggs sometime afterward when C-GHOST returned as bastards12345.
REIGN OF NOBUGGS ~ Scar/nobuggs and Lu_Bu01 had a falling out and Lu_Bu01 found a way to get him banned... possibly for using an avatar of one of the GameSpot moderators and ban-dodging. The Reign of Nobuggs is otherwise quite unremarkable.
THE REIGN OF JEFFSTEEL~The latter days of the Ping Pong Dynasty.
One of the longest dynaties in DWU. As it often occurs in times of long peace, the people become bored. It has been shown that not even emperors are immune to this fact. There came a time whereupon the number of posts slowed to a crawl. Even Emperor Jeffsteel was no where to be found. The core Officers of the Union came to be displeased with this state of affairs, and a Yellow Text Rebellion was formed.JeffSteel is the first to officially use the title "Emperor."
DWA FORMS THE OPPOSITION ~ In the reign of JeffSteel, there was discussion among leading nobles within the union to change the name of the union from "Dynasty Warriors Union" to "The Koei Union," in an effort to expand the union's domains. Upon learning of this, recruit Endless_Light decided that Dynasty Warriors would still need representation. So he decided to for his own union and call it "Dynasty Warriors Alliance." However, the "Koei Union" movement within DWU came to nothing. Endless_Light was branded as a traitor and virtually flamed out of the union. DWA was born and many recruits disenfranchized with DWU fled to DWA.
THE FALL OF TAISHO_ROLYAT ~ Nothing repeats itself like history
In time, Jeffsteel saw that he was neglecting his union, and stepped down. The Imperial Mandate was passed to Taisho_rolyat, bypassing ranger_waha. Which was a fair decision as he was an older member, and had given the union many games in the past. For a time, all was well enough. Until....In a short while, Taisho stopped posting as well. The inevitable rebellion was formed once again, with ranger_waha at the forefront. However, when taisho saw that we were serious about deposing him so soon, he became furious. He flung the Imperial mandate upon a user who had not posted in months, and left, never to be heard from again.
The Imperial Diadem then passed through a series of revolving-door Emperors, including ranger_waha, harden007, and noahcycle.
THE NEW DWU ~ The Great Upheaval
The constant state of upheaval had lead to posters leaving left right and center. Nearly all the hijackers were banned. There were 4-5 regular posters left. Mr. Buttman made his voice heard at this time, suggesting we recruit, and merge even with the DWA. buttmans idea gained popular sway. In fear for the union, ranger_waha created the NEW DWU union. He moved all important threads there, so that any new officers in the DWU couldn't contaminate our history. however, the meager few who followed him there soon abandoned him, and he was left alone in my empty halls, history silently watching him. Seeing that the DWU was full of DWA posters, waha decided that ritual suicide was the only honorable route to go. He went to GS OT and posted "Defecating Phallus Nipples" for about half an hour. The mods were asleep, and the heavens allowed him an honourable demise. So ends the story of Emperor_waha.
THE DARK AGE ~ Summer 2007
When harden signed on for the first time in a while in Jun 2007, he found that he had been proclaimed Emperor whilst away on campaign. The unionhad been without activity for weeks, ranger_waha had taken the posts to his splinter union,and the union was a wasteland. He sent out pm's to the officers, (he could not be Emperor as he had more campaigning to do) requesting advice on who should be Emperor in his place. Foolishly, he handed the diadem over to noahcycle instead of ranger_waha.
On July 7, 2007, amidst the chaos, noahcycle12 became the Eighth Emperor of DWU. They were dark days. The Hijackers had mostly been banned, and the union had been without an effective leader since the days of the Ping Pong Dynasty. Things were not about to get better. Only 20 days into his reign, Noah put the Imperial Diadem up for election. Things had become so bad that no one even wanted the throne. Endless_Light of DWA, playing the Kingmaker, suggested Mr_Buttman. Half of the union followed his suggestion, the other half still supported noah. The Emperor himself refused the throne and buttman was crowned the Emperor of DWU on Sep 8, 2007.
RECTUS DOMINUS ~ The Reign of Buttman
For the first time since the Great Pong, the union had an Emperor committed to keeping the union alive. The old guard was passing away as they were either banned or simply stopped posting. JeffSteel and harden007 then returned to aid in the union's life support, and members like mitsuhideakechi and Axel_77 joined up and were quickly promoted to officer status. Activity was at a level where the union could survive, and so DWU limped on against the ever popular DWA.
In late october a member joined the union by the name of D-cashman (the very mention of his name is now taboo if not outlawed entirely). Cashman spammed the union with utter nonsense, merely to increase his post-count and level. Aside from being a spammer, he was also a total **** and threatened to moderate Emperor Buttman and harden007. The following are the posts that started the Cashman-Insurrection of 2007:
Buttman: "As leader, if you got somethin to say then say it... or else ... SPAAAAAAAAAAM TIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIME!!!!!!!!"
D-cashman: "Buttman Someone can moderate you for spamming"
harden007: "How dare you threaten the Emperor!!! The Great Butt does as he pleases, if he wants to spam he'll spam. Do-gooders are usually executed for their impudence, so be warned." (Message reported to mods by cashman and deleted)
D-cashman: "I'm not threating him i'm warning him of someone who can threaten him"
Buttman: "First of all i was only joking im not gonna spam. Second of all, im not scared to get modded for a little spamming because my mod history is stacked with things a lot worse than that. Thirdly, here in the DWU people don't mod other people for stupid stuff like that, especially the leader. Anyways, I appreciate your concern D-cashman."
harden007: "c*****n reported my post on this thread and got me moderated, what a c***d." (Mssg reported and deleted but saved via quote by jeffsteel)
The Cashman Insurrection had started. Cashman proceeded to moderate Buttman and harden007, repeatedly violating DWU's most cherished law and desecrating our fundamental right to flame. The battles continued across multiple threads, little of which survives today. Cashman was a G-Rated punk who considered the TOU to be his Bible, and his posts were nearly always within the TOU Dogma.
harden007, however, successfully used Sith Dun Möch strategies to anger cashman - causing him to lose his cool. Cashman dropped all pretence, admitting his responsibility in the moddings and challenging harden007. harden007 responded by reporting that post; he then looked at cashman's "post history" and went around reporting a vast number of cashman's posts on other boards. harden007 then PM'd cashman, saying that it would all be over if he left the union, also messaging buttman to remove cashman from the union.
Cashman either left or was booted by Buttman, but he never returned and what damage he could have done was averted.
The Cashman Insurrection was over. However activity continued to operate at a crawl. By early spring 2008, Buttman decided to call it quits as emperor due to real-life time constrains. He held a vote on who should take up the Imperial Diadem, the contenders being Axel_77 and harden007. Harden won the vote after Axel cast the winning vote for him, and in the early summer buttman officially abdicated. Thus ended the reign of Mr_Buttman.
THE GOLDEN EMPEROR ~ The Second Reign of harden007
When harden assumed the throne in early summer 2008, the union had been stale for a little over a year. The only stickied topic was "Nobody better lay a finger on my butterfinger" and only a few posts were being made per week. Harden set right to work on his goals of increasing union activity. He proclaimed his new administration to all members, and went on a recruiting campaign, as well as organizing the board. To increase activity, he started the Chopping Block: a temultuous festival where enemies of the state (inactives) were subject to public execution. In addition, he recruited from other Koei-related boards within Gamespot, and tried to entice former members to return.
Honoring the Past
The old guard had passed into the west, and harden was determined that their glorious deeds not be forgotten, and so he commissioned a great History Thread where all the past glorious exploits of the Heroes could be written down for all future generations to gaze at in awe. He also reworked the "Hall of Fame" by commissioning the building of the "Temple of Heroes," where was kept the official list of the great Heroes of the Dynasty Warriors Union. In addition, he used slave labor to build for each hero their own shrine where they could be "worshipped" by future generations. Honoring the memory of past heroes was not enough for harden, the eccence of the union also had to be preserved. That eccence being free speech and freedom from mods, which harden attempted to preserve in an ever changing world by drafting the Sacred Scrolls as the supreme law of the land, along with the emperor.
Annointed of the Golden
Union activity quickly picked up after harden's accent. Spurred by his success, and as a part of his recruitment program, he invaded DWU's most ancient rival, the Dynasty Warrior's Alliance (DWA). What he found overjoyed him, as that union, once so prosperous and arrogant, had also fallen on hard times and was without a strong leader; Endless_Light having abdicated his dominion over those lands by this point. Among the smouldering ruins of DWA was a wandering warrior named Bruneauinfo, who was hungry and restless that DWA was in shambles. He came before the Emperor, who spoke thusly to Bruneao and the rest: "Let the word go forth that those who oppose me will be destroyed, those who submit shall be spared, and those who freely unite with me shall profit richly - for I am not Emperor, but harden007." And so Bruneauinfo joined harden and the DWU, and together they destroyed DWA, which, without a strong leader, officially surrendered in September 2008, bringing an end to years of unrelenting hostilities which the DWA could no longer affford.
As the weeks and months progressed, more glorious heroes were added to the union, including DPumbliQ and Jeffhardy141, Voork, and others. The Mits and Voork RPG gained such fame and glory, in addition with other activities, that the union broke its previous record and had 600 posts in one week, something undreamed of only months before. The Invation of Japan also saw much plunder and booty, as well as the return of JeffSteel, the former Ping Pong Emperor.
