Great idea, or be like me and build them from scratch.:P

I hate prebuilt, getting the same price as a custom built with worse parts is not cool at all if you want a gaming PC.

i may look for an upgradable PC, that way i have a desktop and just add to it.

at least you have something that works right, unlike this site, it is the reason i am not posting at Unions right now. also i have noticed activity here at Gamespot is at an all time low and that is never good. what really bugs me and i will keep saying this, why no updates from the Techs on the issue, it has been over a week without a single word about the issue and still we have to use a workaround, i have never seen this site this bad before and i have been a member at this site for almost 6 years now. i know i don't pay money for this site, but i wonder how those who do pay money here how they feel about the issue not being addressed by the Techs? i know there is no easy fix to the issue, but one idea a few of us have here is to shut the site down for a day or a weekend and fix a lot of the issues here and them bring back this site back up when the major issues have been fixed, it has been done before, it happened last year and i remember they updated us on Twitter. i know i am voicing my opinion on the matter and i know i am not along on this issue.

Great deals, active community, it's like Xbox Live with many features from it but free and way better than both Xbox Live and PSN, the ability to preorder and download a game and then play it the same day it comes out so you don't even need to go to the store or wait for it to ship to you. You can get new games for like 7 bucks new on certain days(Just Cause 2, Bad Company 2). I can chat with friends anytime(even voice chat). It's not good, it's great and it's the best service out there IMO. It made me a PC gamer again.

I am getting a new PC that will outdo my recent rig and will take on games later on.

Will cost me 400-600 bucks as well.

If you play multiplayer games that have steam built-in, you'll see it's the best thing. You can invite friends, trace them, browse their servers, make a voice conference and more. I mean... how would you find friends to play with without it? Would you just join random servers and ask people for their MSN?

When I decided to get DA II it'll be on PC, I was able to run it of course.

The Crysis 2 demo worked for me perfectly and I can run that as well.

As for Shogun II, well, it's a bit more demanding...

That's a lot of 2s.:P

I bought Borderlands, Left 4 Dead 2, and TF2 on Steam when they were on sale, and I probably play PC the least, but I love being able to message friends and invite them to a game.

My PC build had started: Got me a new keyboard and mouse a week ago(using it now) and now I need the cheaper parts like cpu cooler, case, power supply, RAM and hard drive. After that is the mobo(150) and cpu(200 some bucks).

I need ebay...

That depends on the parts you buy and games to use them on.=p I normally try to find the best deals and I always end up spending less than 700-800 bucks and running any game out there.

Then again I used ebay for some of my parts.

That depends on the games, the settings you run them and your specs, what's your specs? Download Speccy, it detects everything, also, can it do Crysis and Metro 2033 in DX11 over 30FPS?=p

I'm pretty sure my laptop just sputtered at the thought of running Crysis over 30fps, so that's a no. :P

That Speccy thing is pretty cool though. My laptop - Intel Core 2 Duo @ 1.30GHz. nVidia geforce g210m. 4gb RAM.

Definitely a lower end PC for gaming, but it runs Half Life 2, Portal, Fallout 3, Oblivion, and most importantly, Minecraft. So I'm fairly happy with it.

In a year or so I'll be looking to purchase one of Asus' high end gaming laptops. Then ask me how I can run Crysis.

Yeah, it's perfect for anything before 2009.=p Oh, and Metro 2033 is more demanding than Crysis in DX11, I played both, I ran Crysis sometimes in the 40s but mostly 25-35 FPS, then again my GTX 460 is overclocked. Metro on the other hand goes as low as 10FPS.D= It's mostly 20-32 FPS for me with a very few 40s here and there. My next build will handle it fine.
