gamespot article here

Starting tomorrow, Xbox One owners will be able to upload gameplay clips captured using Microsoft's Game DVR functionality directly to YouTube. In a blog post on the Xbox Wire, Microsoft said once the update rolls out tomorrow, it will be "easier than ever" to capture and share game clips with people around the world.

Previously, Xbox One users needed to jump through some hoops to upload gameplay clips to YouTube. But no longer. When the update is released, you'll be able to click a button inside the YouTube app to share clips to your YouTube channel.

By comparison, Sony's PlayStation 4 does not offer any YouTube app whatsoever, though owners of that system can share clips to their profiles or to Facebook using the system's "Share" functionality. The PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita currently have dedicated YouTube apps.

The updated YouTube app will also let you watch videos in Snap Mode, add new videos to your Pins, earn Media achievements, and add your favorite YouTube channels to the OneGuide.

This is actually pretty cool....I love the X1....there is nothing better than doing something badass in a game and saying "Xbox record that" and bam done.....now being able to upload seamlessly to youtube is icing on the cake.

That's pretty decent. I'm sure Sony will counter it soon.

Not really a huge deal considering the next PS4 update is going to allow you to save your SHARE content onto a USB. That solves the YouTube issue.

That being said, a YouTube integration would be pretty sweet - Sony's probably already working on it.

The real issue I have is how will uploaded content be affected by content ID? Pubs and devs could take down your content with ease on YouTube.

99% of publishers don't really care unless you're monetising it, and even then they usually only mind if you upload say, all the cutscenes in a game or a complete playthrough of the game with no commentary.

Sony is really slacking when it comes to this stuff, especially considering they have a freaking share button on the controller.

OS updates keep coming and since you can add commentary and your own video to your clips via Upload Studio, this is yet again a Kinect-centric feature. MS needs that external hard-drive support ASAP as well as a Kinect-enhanced new Netflix app. HBOGO and that's all I need. Ok, and VLC too :)

LOL i didnt know that you could. i just got the xbone on the 26th. sony is really lagging behind again with the bells and whistles.

one thing i hate with sony is that they dont jump on common sense features. you want to make a console that integrates social network but no youtube app is kind of dumb

You can edit your clip, voice commentary and even video commentary I believe....so your clip will be playing and a little box with your video commentary will be in the corner. Pretty slick.

It's a neat feature, and surely a boon to the console, but personally, I just don't think anybody would ever want to watch a video of anything I played. Who knows, though? Maybe there's a market for, "Watch me go all OCD on this stealth game."
