@shawn30: you didn't address any of my points yet deflected and undermined them.

What does Sony's creditors have anything to do with the PS3 outselling the Xbox 360? What does Sony not making a profit on PSN have to do with The PS3 outselling the Xbox 360?

Brand Name, Blu-Ray, and "Luxury features" were the reasons why the PS3 outsold the Xbox 360 In their respective years, period. These are 3 things again, Microsofts Xbox One has no advtange of, excluding the luxury features part.

It has nothing to do with exclusives when they only make up 8% of the the games industry, multiplats are all that matter to the mass majority of system buyers.

It has nothing to do with Kinect, an add on that is esstinaly uses in comparison to devices and methods that do the same job, more seamlessly.

Price, Brand Name, Better Multiplats, and PSN's (free games).

These are all the factors in why the PS4 beats and will continue to beat the Xbox One in sales for the distant future.

The Xbox One at 400 still wouldn't compete well enough it's 50 % weaker.

At 349 or below the Xbox One would have a legitimate chance at competing against the PS4.

Dont forget, most of the UK sales bumps recently have been due to not just a price cut, but the fact the TitanFall bundle has been at that same reduced price. In essence, they have been handing out TitanFall for free.

MS is way behind right now, and is doing everything they can to keep Sony in sight before TitanFall releases on 360. TitanFall on 360 is the second most pre-ordered game on Amazon right now. That's a lot of people who aren't willing to spend $450-500 on a console for TitanFall.

Meanwhile, Sony hasn't been able to keep units on the shelf or the gap would be larger. That 70% bump for Sony is just because they actually got some stock in. They think it will be summer before they start to catch up.

Keep chasing that ps4 tail, xbone.

Yeah, because a comment by someone called "XBoxDone74" who calls the Xbox One "xbone" just screams unbiased analysis...

@Shewgenja: I work at a Canadian retailer. We have 50 Xbox Ones sitting here right now. We have had them all month. Sold maybe 10 this month. Meanwhile every day I turn people away asking for ps4. We haven't had a ps4 shipment in almost a month now. Sony needs to get off their asses and start producing these things. People will not wait forever.

Well if they're outselling the PS4 in UK I have no doubt they are also outselling it in the US since it was previously beating the PS4 last year.

And since the PS4 flopped in Japan we can assume it isn't selling well in other territories either.

that's one of the best lem spins ever, congrats to you sir, LOL

The underlined is as false as a $3 bill. Both companies make less than $50 off each console sold.

@FreedomFreeLife:

1) X1 gettin Titanfall , a really hyped FPS game.

2) Giving it free as a bundle for 500$

3) For a short amount of time ( was it a week , dunno ) on site MS was giving the bundle for 399$ !!

4) As we speak there is ANOTHER cut on a big store to Titanfall bundle to 450$ i think

Well what did you expect with those kind of offers one after the other ?

#66 Edited by Daious (1052 posts) -

Stocking issues.

100 dollar price cut and a free game.

I would be surprised if it wasn't outselling it

Launch week, PS4 struggling in japan.... couple days later PS4 completely sold out in japan.

because PS4s are sold out and xbox ones can be found still lol.

Pretty much. It would be really sad if MS didn't.

But PS4 still in control. Dat Titanfall boost. What happens when that dies down :o

Honestly, the jump is all about the price drop. MS needs to drop the one to 399 or even 350. Yeah, I know I'm not an investor so its easy to say what a company should and shouldn't do. But realistically the One has games and features and more big games to come. It is simply to expensive. Titanfall is a huge game, but just one game. Its one of the powerful titles the One has even though its not exclusive. MS should bite the bullet and drop the price. That will help in sales being stronger over a longer period of time. Then when the Gears and Halos and Quantum Breaks arrive they will be in good shape. Titanfall has likely done its job. Sold a couple hundred thousand Xbox Ones, reviewed very well, and added value to the console. That's all you can ask from a big name game.

I'm sorry but there is no way MS will drop the price 350. And if Titanfall was really an X1 exclusive (not on PC or 360) it would have helped the console significantly more.

No when Xbone launches in the other countries its going to get outsold in those countries just like it has been everywhere else. The countries the one hasnt launched in arent going to give it much of a boost.

Thats a bit of a baseless assumption don't you think,lets wait and see shall we.

"PS4 began to outsell Xbox Again when stock came, a 72% increase in sales."

Even with a price cut and free game Microsoft couldn't outsell Sony.

Helll Infamous' preorders (1million) outsold TitanFall's one week sales on the XB1 (700,000)

There are more PS4 consoles, thus more people that could buy Infamous. If we take the data from vgchartz.

6.3mil ps4 consoles sold, 1mil infamous => 1/6.3 people bought infamous

3.9mil X1 consoles sold, 700k titanfall => 1/5,57 people bought xbox one

It's normal that Infamous has more pre orders, because more people have a PS4, AND let's not forget that PS4 owners buy less games than Xbox One owners, so if since launch this is the first decent game to buy on PS4, it's also normal people buy it.

I thought Xbox One owners bought around 2.8-3 games, and for PS4 it was 2.1-2.3, much less when we are talking about millions of consoles.

Also the guy that posted the PS4 40 countries, Xbox One 13 countries thing, that wasn't clever. If you want to do it properly, you check the percentage of gamers per country, and the amount of people living in the country. Because the PS4 is also released in Brazil, where a lot of people live, but not a lot of gamers, compared to the US or UK.

IT really does. The countries Ms hasnt released in didnt provide hardly any support for the 360.............but all of the suddenly theye're going to for the one? TBH those countries matter little to the overall sales of either console but favor Sony more.

nothing you said after that sentence matters

As I suspected, I also don't expect this to stop when titanfall has died down either, especially with the xbox exclusives coming. What does sony have coming? Second son obviously wasn't enough to compete.

#87 Posted by NFJSupreme (5129 posts) -

Who cares about sales anymore? Both will sell enough to have very healthy generations fir there owners who don't won't have to worry about being shunned by third-party devs like the wii u.

I meant more in general? They're plenty coming out at the end of the year and next year, and rumours of resident evil 7 being announced as exclusive, fable, halo etc? What does sony have coming? I just think xbox can just recreate the hype it has for titanfall again and again, while sony fails to deliver on exclusives.

PS4 has four worthwhile confirmed first party exclusives to Xbone's three.

Xbone has what, KSR? LOL. Sunset Overdrive? Seems a little too quirky and niche for the mainstream. Quantum Break is the only thing that can match the (manufactured) hype of Tituhfuhh and we haven't seen anything of that since December.

What are you talking about, it has more than that, halo, fable etc are more than enough to re-create hype and alot of sony fans we're annoyed at sunset being exclsuive, you're beginning to sound like a fanboy. Not to mention you didn't even say the names of the 4 sony has coming, 4 isn't alot, theres alot of more popular franchises launching eventually even gears 4 is being worked on.

The Halo game this year looks to be a rehash of a ten year old game, Fable is 2016, Gears 4 is 2016, RE7 was cooked up by an obscure German magazine six months ago. I look at the Xbone schedule for the rest of the year and I see a lot of tumbleweed - there's nothing to justify putting down an extra $100 for an Xbone until November at least.

By the way: Drive Club, MLB The Show, The Order and Infamous. One's out and there's nine months of the year left, that's plenty.

Yes and as I said infamous didn't have the same effect titanfall had on xbox 1. Also i was referring to fable legends, as for the RE7 rumour it is recent and looks to be true as Capcom have updated their resident evil page. Drive club and MLB are not enough to create hype like titanfall has infamous was the chance Sony had. Xbox one has the better exclusives lined up not just this year either.

#98 Posted by cainetao11 (16598 posts) -

Figured it was UK or states. They are Xbox's strongest territories. PS is still the world wide favorite, but good for MS I guess. I know I am really enjoying my X1 and after last weekend my brother wants one now.

#99 Posted by PinkieWinkie (1364 posts) -

@hehe101: I think you are taking AA scores a little too seriously. Infamous SS had 1 million preorders and I guarantee its selling more then Titanfall did on XBone.

#100 Edited by hehe101 (574 posts) -

@PinkieWinkie:

Thats because more people have a PS4 of cause it sold more. Titanfall has doubled sales in the UK and increased them in US. I'm trying to say microsoft has alot of bigger names than titanfall being worked on and can recreate this success again.
