Microsoft corporate vice president Marc Whitten has spoken about some of the changes and additions Microsoft is making to the current Xbox One development kits, including an increase to the GPU's clock speed and a new graphics driver.

Speaking on the podcast of Microsoft spokesperson Larry Hryb, Whitten said "this is the time, and this is the thing I think people are going to see as we get into Gamescom and people get their first look at new things since E3. This is the time where developers have the final dev kits in their hands, they're really working closely with us on how things have come together. There's some things that have really started to come together quite well."

Whitten also said that Microsoft's internal beta for the Xbox One was currently running, and that the hardware manufacturer was releasing daily builds for the console's operating system.

New additions to the Xbox One hardware since it was last shown at E3 include a new graphics driver and an increase to the GPU's clock speed, says Whitten.

Xbox one games at E3 weren't on xbox one hardware they were running on windows 7 with a nivida graphics card :S a high end nivida graphics card.

Xbox one games at E3 weren't on xbox one hardware they were running on windows 7 with a nivida graphics card :S a high end nivida graphics card.

Just wow :shock: since as it was, it was the only console showing games running on it at 1080P @ 60 fps but now who knows, with this bump and da Cloud, perhaps 120 fps? :twisted:

Big increase for Xbox One, whereas 1.84 Tflops on PS4 was only a small difference. Lol.

Doing last gen game at 60 FPS isn't exactly pushing anything..

 

Forza had anything that can be possibly faked on it,and Titan Fall look average as hell,with bland buildings,static vegetation,i wonder where all the power of the cloud is going into..:lol:

The few games that push the console were all lagging Ryse,DR3 which had deeps as low as 14 FPS and several other,funny how MS completely avoided to show anything multiplatform running on xbox one that was also shown on PS4 on E3.

Tittanfall wasn't confirmed as running in 1080p,it was 60 FPS with deeps up to 40 fps,with graphics that were not impressive in any way.

And yes, there were some games that were - categorically, without a shadow of a doubt - running on Xbox One hardware. It'll come as little surprise to learn that first party software was more likely to be showcased running on the new console, with Turn 10's Forza Motorsport 5 the most high profile title we saw that was visibly operating on the actual unit.

Just as they were wrong about the RAM and wrong about the CPU cores (They went on and on about Xbox One reserving 2 cores for the OS. Turns out PS4 does the same thing) they are likely wrong about the GPU when it comes to the OS as well. We keep hearing about Xbox One's GPU having 10% of its resources reserved for background tasks but I feel pretty confident that the same sort of thing will leak about PS4 eventually.

Well whitten saying 800 to 853 kinda confirms it and it makes sense 1.3.  Specs will be official soon but I was the one piping about downclocks like thuway you or bruce.  Right now the crow is getting cooked up for you to eat.

Apparently you missed Infamous PS4 which craps all over Forza has next gen effects and is open world.

 

Something that is really pushing the console.

 

Frames mean sh** when what your a pushing is nothing special.

 

Forza is a damn racer it should be 90 FPS with baked effects,at least everything on Drive Club is dynamic.

Yeah Tessellation maybe which is a fake hermit.

 

You know how much this speed bump raise the TF count.?

 

From 1230 to 1300... 70Gflops and some how we most pretend this will close the gap of 600Gflops or more since the xbox reserves 10% GPU for system.

Yet now you're creaming yourself over every graphical feature you can list in PS4 games whilst having practically no idea how these games will look or run. 600 Gflops , if used for computing, can make a difference between fixed lighting and Global Dynamic Lighting, between fixed LOD and dynamic tesselation, between many many things.

As far as 3rd parties are concerned, it will just make the PS4 version have better or more stable framerate and maybe better AA.

But 1st parties can really push it further in the gen.

Crysis 2 and 3 on PS3 and xbox 360 had the same effect,and Crytek could not hit 720p in either version.

 

While games like Uncharted 3 which look better do ran at 720p native.

 

Can wait to see what ND will deliver that 600Gflosp difference will shine so hard.
