PC gaming is what one makes of it. Consoles can have better hardware than a person's PC and they do have better hardware than most PCs. Some have gaming PCs with top of the line hardware. It's an unfair comparison since a console has set hardware from a certain point in time. They can't and won't change its capabilities mid-cycle as that would screw early adopters. Nobody owns PC gaming and the hardware is varied and always changing.
Basically, the only people who make the comparisons have some petty compensation issues and need to assure themselves of the obvious.
AC4 is pretty shitty on PC. So poorly optimized that I'd rather get it on the PS4 than my PC.

Considering the PC platform is already ahead right at the beginning it's obvious that it is only going to pull further and further ahead.

I've been a Steam user since 2004 and I've never been in any Steam survey. I'm sure I'm not the only one. Steam requires the user's permission to include PC information on its surveys and I've always said no.

unoptimized or not a $250 7950 is so much more powerful than either console that it plays the game better. Imagine in 2-3 years where pc hardware will be. A dev will actually have to try and make a pc port worst

second off we dont have any dx11 games yet because we had to wait for you guys to upgrade your hardware

Consoles will never run games better than a competent pc. It's not just max settings. It's performance which these new gen of consoles still lack. Only game I can think of that run at a steady 60fps is forza. All the other games that claim 60fps average in the 50s with drops to the 30 or lower. Whereas on my pc all my games run at 60fps. For example bf4 at a rock solid 60fps with no dips looks amazing. Especially when explosions are happening everywhere. You don't get this performance on consoles even on the ps4 which is the most powerful.

Well, if that leaked picture turns out to be real, it looks better than the console versions even though the picture was taken with a 2 MP phone camera while moving and unfocused, That should give you a rough estimate.

the computer platform offers people the choice of a low end build, around the specs of a PS4 with like a 7870 or something for about the same price (reference farrel2k's build) , right the way up as high as you want to go.
so where is the negative? if someone came to me with the money to buy ps4 and two games i will build them a better pc and get them four games.
these weaker computers are probably around the wii u's price, or were built pre-8th gen, in which case i dont think the comparison is fair unless we're comparing dollar for dollar, and if we compare dollar for dollar the pc is going to win. especially if you want to play online with xbox one or ps4. i mean, come on.
