why can only Sony have graphics kings?

Neither Xbone nor even the almighty PC get recognition for graphics to the extent PS4 has. The same applied to PS3. Seems like a game has to be on a Sony console to qualify as a contender.

Even if some multiplats on PC look a generation ahead on their ultra settings and still masses ignore it.

Seriously though my ps4 feels half a gen behind at times compared to my budget rig. Them lack of aa hurts.

Pretty sure the 360 got plenty of recognition for its graphics back in the day

What graphics king is this? All i see are games cutting corners, using linear, static enviroments, backed lighting and shaders, etc.

Has for recognition, it's mostly because of marketing. SC has alot of money and thus gained attention.

Unreal Tournament looks amazing, but because it's a small scale project, most don't know about.

Ofcourse people know about 5club, The Order, UC4, etc. They're marketed based on graphics in big conferences.

PC is not main stream and the Xbone is a far lesser hardware than the PS4.

I haven't seen an X1 game that comes close to looking as good as DriveClub, The Order 1886, heck, even Killzone Shadow Fall. Uncharted 4 is pretty much gonna blow the lid on this place. It's like the equivalent of pulling someone's shorts down in gym class.

@Salt_The_Fries: PC isn't funding those big budget graphical games I think crytek was going bankrupt or something on PC, Microsoft went with terrible hardware nobody knows why and now that device can never have a graphics king.

are you for real? Crytek was growing so fast opening new studios left and right up until they decided to release games on consoles.

Because fact states nothing on PC looks better than The Order currently. Future titles like UC4 and Horizon already have it in the grasp too. Like I said many times, in order for PC to have a new graphics king it would have to do what Crysis 1 did in 2007 by solely program a game to the highest graphics card spec and a couple gens beyond, a Crysis 4 with all these manifested would look crazy, but reality says it's 99.99% non plausible given the current trend. What of Star Citizen then? It's true it's targeting high end pc hardware but it's not entirely focused on pushing graphics to the maximum, so while technically it may be more impressive than any console games but from what it renders on screen, it's still not as impressive as the more graphics focused game like The Order or Uncharted. It's all resource distribution.

@SolidGame_basic: The Order has black bars, grainy filter, and running at 800p. Driveclub uses weather to cover up its graphical weaknesses. And Ryse was known as the best looking new gen game. Not Killzone, in fact, Ryse kills your argument completely.

Nobody mentions the PC in graphics debates because its domination in that regard goes without saying.

I'm pretty sure when I was here last generation, Crysis held the title for a long time.

I'm pretty sure though that there will be some good games in the future that will give the PS4 some competition, but there are still good games on the PC.

Your opinions on aesthetics has nothing to do with facts. Are you over the age of 9? You are the same person who said UC2, UC3, TLOU were graphics kings, and that your Plasma TV made PS3 graphics king all gen long. You then said infamous, killzone, and driveclub would be gfx kings prior to their releases. That is a 100% loss rate.

PC has had gfx king for the last decade. The only time Console had better graphics was when Gears1 came out, and that didn't last long. It currently has gfx king in maxed out Unity, PCars, Witcher3, and Ryse. UT, Star Citizen, Battlefront, DX:MD, and likely FO4+Mods maxed on PC will trump anything coming to consoles, including on-rails cutscene screenshot forum bragging games.

The Order shouldn't look this bad considering it's only 4 hours in tiny hallways:

Maybe it's more on the cost of entry to achieve a subjectively recognizable image quality/experience increase maybe not so much that not a lot don't give recognistion.

Hermits don't tend to talk about graphics kings. They just post Crysis and modded Skyrim pictures in threads created by cows about graphics kings.

Cows are the only ones who enjoy movies, which do look better than games.

The Order 1886? DriveClub being a no frills basic ass racing game in order to push visuals as far as possible? Sony love to push visuals first especially at the beginning of the generation.

Wipe your tears xbox got recognition from gears in 2006 and PC got recognition from Crysis in 2007. It is just a simple fact that PS3/PS4 have presented more industry rosining graphical show pieces than exclusives produced on other platforms.

PS3 didn't get credit for multiplats as do no other system save for PC so that argument is out. Since exclusives drives the competition between the systems, they are the games people look to for competitive and industry setting bars.

PC has most RTS and moba stuff or games you that looked good but we broken or played so bad they were underwhelming.

Xbox had Halo/forza/Gears and while Gears was a show piece in 2006 it had been on the market a year and PS3 had only been out a month so it's hardware was untapped.
