Why are there no games on the PC on the same level of Sony exclusives?

A tech enthusiast is going to be buying the best PC parts and modding the living hell out of games at 4-8k ultra while trying to get 60 + fps. Not playing a majority of video games at 20-30 fps on low, or worse when online mode. He'll brute force even open world games to look better than corridor movie game trash.

A video game enthusiast probably isn't going to be stuck on the most casual genre (movie game), while scoffing off all forms of competitive gaming or thinking multiplats don't exist.

Because as a developer, you don't make a AAA game exclusive to PC when you don't have anything invested in PC hardware nor have anything to do with hardware period. That's why most AAA games developed for PC first are always ported to consoles as well. Exclusive PC games are more risky to invest in because there are no other means of income like Sony or Nintendo has with licensing, peripherals and the consoles themselves so developers have to be careful otherwise they limit their audience and sales and if it doesn't sell as well as hoped, it's a complete loss where for Sony it's just one loss out of other potentials.. Sony and Nintendo are willing to limit game sales in exchange to provide the only incentive a consumer could have to buy their platform. MS has since expanded Xbox to include the PC platform to sell more games because they also control Windows Store and Windows OS, changing the marketing formula in hopes that Xbox will appeal to lower cost consumers wanting a simple system to play games on.

Everyone else in here are complete morons, arguing over the stupidest crap. It's a my preference vs your preference war because they feel the desire to swing on a particular companies nut sack. PC is open so the only sack to swing on are your own and too many kids today can't make or afford those golden home made nut sacks.

I like to experience video games. I don't like to be in a stressful competition environment to get up in some rankings for bragging rights.

If it isn't an initially viable citation, no I certainly don't. They have been known to largely estimate their totals, only occasionally correcting once official figures were released (and they have been known to be way off.) Please though, continue to use them as a citation.

PC gets funneled the most amount of AAA titles this gen. Clearly the publishers and developers see something on PC to give it tons of console exclusives (MS Exclusive, Sony/PC Exclusives). Obviously there is profit there.

The OP was factually wrong. PC gets ton of AAA games in the vein of Sony Exclusives. The most of any 1 system in fact.

That's purely subjective. To me a high scoring scoring MOBA or MMO is worth several high scoring scoring soccer mom rental movie games. It depends what genres you like.

The fact is, PC has 110 more high scoring titles than PS4. No matter how much you cry, these are solid numbers and data. PC objectively wins the SW meta game, and any real life library count statement outside of SW. It just is what it is.

Well, if your initial argument is "PC gamers simply do not buy games" then yes the NPD fiscal report sure as amen in church, confirms that.

PC has a massive userbase compared to console, yet their software sales are not even reaching a 1/4 billion in sales.

As NPD states in their report

"Overall, the gaming market seems like it is an excellent state. More people are turning to PC gaming for unique experiences, PS4 and Xbox One continue to outsell their predecessors, and Nintendo is addressing a market beyond the other consoles with the Switch. In 2018, we should see publishers and platform holders capitalize on this excitement once again."

And that is the key here, PC gamers look for that "unique experience", Console gamers play games to play games. Which is why GTA V sells 70-80mill on Console but only 5-10mill on pc. or why The Witcher 3 is split 70/30 % console/pc.

VGChartz doesn't accurately list digital PC sales.

EA earnings shows that consoles software sales are at 569 million across all three and PC is at 196 million Q 2018.

You are still struggling. You have to prove a majority of sales per game. The person I quoted said that PC gamers don't buy PC games. Factually incorrect. One of us are not following what the TS wanted to point out, the point is not that some developers release their generic FPS/TPS game as multi-plats.

The point was that games like RDR, Detroit, God of War, The Last of Us, Uncharted are not coming out on pc IE Quality gameplay experiences.

And the PC does not get a ton of AAA titles, they get a ton of indie titles and mindnumbing boring 2d games.

Any form of online or competitive "quality gameplay experience" is going to be found on PC. Any form of strategy "quality gameplay experience" is going to be found on PC. Ditto for quality gameplay experience in massively multiplayer games and simulators. Can you find citation that no AAA high scoring games in these genres can be "quality gameplay experiences"?
