Why are so many games skipped for wiiU?

Because people think the Xbox and Playstation are "cooler"

with the Wii everyone likes to say because of hardware limitations ( it sold the most )

With the GC everyone said it failed because of no Third Party ( more powerful than PS2 )

with the Wii U everyone says it's because of the numbers ( more powerful than current gen )

In reality it's because of the Nintendo Image everyone has, xbox and PS think they're "Hardcore" or "Core" gamers when all they play is FPS

People like to say Nitendo is always rehashing Franchises.

How many CODs came out in one gen? or what about EA sports games every year ?

We're just fvcking gamers. All this stuff lately labelling what we actually are is stupid, women gamers, hardcore gamers, core gamers. In the end we all play games, some more than others. You shouldn't need a label to differentiate them, just talking to them will let you know what kind of gamer they are

I'm guessing this:

- hardware is specific and requires games to be made "ground-up" for it to take full advantage of. (direct ports with slapped-on motion control don't work that well)

- the userbase is small compared to the PS360 userbase and is growing slowly. (read: less sales)

- prejudice from the gaming community which also affects 3rd party treatment. (Nintendo always had a "kiddy" image and now also has a "casual" image)

When the "next-gen" systems arrive, the hardware limitations will also be a reason why many "big" 3rd parties will avoid it.

The wiiU just isn't powerful enough to entice core gamers, the people who actually BUY games.

The core gamers will go for the xbox, and the crapstation will get the scraps.

It's simple really. Developers have to weigh the cost to develop/port the game versus the potential profit form the known install base.

The WiiU install base is small... so why develop/port it if it cost more than possible returns?

That's why exclusives early on in a consoles life is so important, to build an install base so 3rd party developers don't overlook you.

Personaly, I think 3rd party developers notice that Nintendo fans buy more in-house games then ports anyway. Why make a game for a console when all they gonna do is sit on Mario and Zelda and never buy your game anyway? Who, other than die hard sheep, will honestly buy games like CoD or Skyrim on WiiU over other systems?

Nintendo console are generally not big sellers in the last 20 years. Wii fluked to success and now Nintendo is struggling move consoles again. Handhelds have nothing to do with this so don't try add that in when you got owned.

Niche for me in this case means htat if you don't like Mario and Zelda you have no reason to buy one. Even if you don't like M$ or Sony exclusives they have plenty of 3rd party to support to make it a worthwhile purchase.

The Wii U is being skipped due to it lacking in sales & lacking in truly being a next gen system hardwarewise & it's directed at a different aucience than people who  buy PS & xbox. Why would people buy the Wii U with so few games, current gen hardware, & has a stupid gamepad controller?! People can buy a 360 or PS3 that are better than the Wii U and have huge game libraries. The reason people buy new systems is for them to be technically advanced and have many new games to play on it. Nintendo F'd up big time.

Nintendo went about the Wii U in all the wrong ways. They screwed up worse with it than Sony did with PS3 by far. I really don't get how Nintendo came up with the Wii U as a viable successor to the Wii? Hardly any games, bad idea on controls, & not powerful enough to be what people would expect for the next gen of consoles.
