I hope they kill off Mario soon.

"Who here wants Miyamoto to die..."
Whaa...? :o
What the ****? :|
*insert Jackie Chan brain holding his head image here*
Why is this topic still here? From the looks of it, its made the majority of system warriors sick to their very cores.

What kind of sane person would want anybody like Shigeru Miyamoto to die? What bad has he done?
TheFallenDemon
And be replaced by a proponent of "cinematic" gaming? I want him to live forever.
789shadow
Nintendo will have him cloned forever so we don't need to worry about that :P
Him retiring wouldn't do anything. Nintendo is stuck in their ways regardless of who is still working there. I'll just continue enjoying the advancement of video games, rather than playing the same games for over a decade. The only reason my Wii ever gets used is so my girlfriend can watch Netflix. >.>UCF_Knight
This is true, except I don't bother using the wii.
I wouldnt wish anyone to die, thats just wrong unless they are Bin Laden.
But the man should just keep doing as he wishes, he will step down when he decides to and i dont see that happening any time soon.
[QUOTE="lordlors"][QUOTE="argetlam00"]He has inspired me to become a game designer myself but with so much nintendo hate i just had to ask this board. I take it that your game designs flopped, so your taking your anger out on Miyamoto. Hmm... it seems you don't understand. I don't harbor any anger. I'm just curious if there are any SW dwellers who harbor such hate. After all, nintendo is always hated in this board.:| What did he do to you?

Oh haha, you guys are hilarious! You do realise that there is more originality and quality game design in a single new entry from one of Nintendo's 25 year old franchises than there is in pretty much every new IP released this gen combined right? Uncharted, for example, doesn't have a single original bone in its body whereas Mario Galaxy 2 has about 50 new concepts never before attempted. Just because it's the same character doesn't mean the games haven't changed significantly.
[QUOTE="NeonNinja"]being a nintendo hater could be a reason. there are lots of haters of nintendo after all.Why on Earth would anyone want another, normal, perfectly peaceful human being to die?
lordlors
That is not a valid reason to wish for someone's death.

Well there are crazy people so not being valid doesn't really matter. It's not like valid reasons are always being used in arguments here in SW.[QUOTE="GD1551"]

It falls on deaf ears man. Or blind eyes in this case.
I run into this fallacy on this board all the time. "Oh that character is old? Well than obviously the game design must be as well!" I often wonder if these people could possibly be serious and then disappointingly enough, I find out they are.
The problem all stems from assumption of course. A person can not honestly play a game like SMG2 and come away with the opinion that it is "stuck in the past", or "unoriginal". There is no way a person could play DKCR and come away thinking "rehash", or "its dated". But I see that nonsense all the time.
The TC doesn't want Shigeru to die, the TC is just curious to see if there are any fanboys on here crazy enough to want him to die. Sheesh.
That being said I don;t think anyone really would WANT him to die, whether they like Nintendo or not. If anyone does they are probably just trolling and wanting attention or whatever.
This topic is silly.
Peter Molyneaux should take this guy under his wing and teach him how to design games.
Nike_Air
Not sure if serious..?
[QUOTE="Tezcatlipoca666"][QUOTE="charizard1605"]Who here actually wants ANY fellow human being to die? Because that person has issues and probably needs professional help right away.charizard1605
What a pompous person you are. Not all human beings are your "fellow" and someone could have a good reason to wish for the death of another.
Anyway, no, I don't want Miyamoto to die nor do I WANT him to retire. He will retire when he feels like it.
So not wanting anyone else to die is pompous? Wishing death upon someone is justified? Really? Really now?Actually yes. History has proved that time and again. Until you've actually been placed within a situation where the life of an individual poses a threat to your security and the ones you love, it's very easy to say something like that. Have you ever lived under a dictatorship? Were you or the ones you love ever denied a roof over your head, experienced hunger and despair because of someone else? How about a family member who has died because of another individual?--one whose life is still a major source of death and suffering around you. Just because someone wishes another's death, does not make them horrible human beings. And there are a lot of people out there who are in fact just that.
Anyway, I don't even know why I'm talking about stuff like this in SW, and wth was this thread all about?
The retire part, i understand.
The die part...what?
archvile_78
Yeah, seriously.
I mean, is anyone crazy enough to want someone to die? Especially freaking Miyamoto, the modern Jesus of videogames?
[QUOTE="shreshto"]
i want him to leave.just leave .
sandbox3d
Why is that?
because i dont like his games?and want him to stay the hell away from gaming industry.he is a former shell of his glory days.Miyamoto is a great designer with great ideas, but his "style" has influenced Nintendo in a way that pushes the possibility of new designers with new styles out the door. The majority of games Nintendo produces today are his franchies with his art style. As a company, they do not have room for the "next Miyamoto" to emerge, and artists coming up in the ranks of Nintendo are consulted by Miyamoto and essentially indoctrinated into his way of game design.
So, as horrible as it sounds, I could understand some people wanting Miyamoto to go away, as in, just completely retire and no longer consult, guide, edit, produce, direct, write, suggest, test, nothing. I guess "die" could be a word for that, but I don't wish ill on him, I would just like to see an intellectual expansion on the part of Nintendo away from their "comfort zone" on IPs. Nintendo is so willing to be creative with hardware, user interaction, etc... and yet essentially they keep redesigning the same IP over-and-over in a new medium. It's Mario, but he's 3D and you use a touchscreen. Okay now you have screens in your controllers, and here's Mario...
That's frustrating. The best thing about the GameCube was the introduction of games like Pikmin, Metroid Prime and Eternal Darkness. Those represented depth and breadth of software. Nintendo is a good company, they're capable of that, but they're not doing it.

Dont buy them, simple. The rest of your post has no meaning and does not answer the question. Please explain why you want him to leave.
Thanks.

Pikmin was actually a great little series (hopefully it continues at some point), but Wii Music was a mistake, yeah.
Miyamoto announced the 3rd Pikmin too early but after they announced the Wii U Miyamoto said they moved development of Pikmin to the Wii U.[QUOTE="TheFallenDemon"]
Well, he did make Wii Music and Pikmin.
mmmwksil
Wii Music is one thing. But Pikmin? :|
It's one of the most charming original IPs from Gen 6.
wii music would have been awesome... if it had the same songs as guitar hero and rock band and stuff...
id love to play master of puppets on wii music drums!!
I actually had to look at the topic twice to see if I was reading it right, I have never in my life seen a more poorly asked question ever to actually ask others if they want a man dead because they might not like his games? I have seen some over the top threads on here but this actually defies all logic of thinking before you type.
