My first game was Black belt. i played the shit outta this game:
@FinalFighters:
Mannnn, back in the day I loved, loved that game and yep, played it to death... Fond memories. :D
@indzman:
Quite possibly the worst platformer you'll ever play in your entire life! ?
But I was little at the time so I was just happy to play something on it. Then Super Mario World came in and stole my heart!
1992
My dad just installed Alone in The Dark with those huge floppy disk things. Scared the crap outta me.

You call that worst? For me back then, my Dad got me an Atari 2600 in 1994 and the only game I had on it was E.T game. It was dull and tedious, and even with the instruction manual it was pretty tough to figure out what the hell I was doing. Then again, I hadn't yet seen the ET movie at the time, so that might have contributed to my general dislike of the game.
The first console I personally owned was an Intellivision in 1978.
But the first game I remember playing was a text based game called Mugwumps at a computer camp I went to in first grade around 1975. That's what got me hooked.
I also had an Odyssey2 and then a TI-994A computer. Then boxes and boxes of Commodore 64 games.
I skipped most of the Nintendo era because that's when I was in college and didn't have time to play games. I don't see how college kids play games nowadays and still have time for a social life.
I started back gaming in 93 when Madden came out and back into PC gaming with Starcraft.
I started playing Super Nintendo in 1996, but that was my sister's thing. I loved Super Mario World and Super Mario All Stars, and I also would play this Scooby Doo Game, Turtles in Time, Donkey Kong Country, Bubsy 1 and 2 (lol), and Link to the Past.
But in 1999 I got my own console- N64- and I got Donkey Kong 64 and Pokemon Snap.

*high five* :D
That soundtrack (especially the boss battles) was good stuff.
Probably 1998 on SNES, N64, PS1 and so many knockoff consoles. Those that had bunch of older games pre installed. I was 6. But I didn't get my own console till 2006 being the ps2...then ps3 and now all of them except 3ds.
In early 1995, on uncle's old Atari 2600 that he already owned from several years ago. I remember playing games but I don't remember their names anymore.
Father brought my own Nintendo Entertainment System, Super Nintendo Entertainment System and SEGA stuff where I used to play stuff like Street Fighter, Contra, Sonic, Virtua Fighter, Snow Bros, Mario etc.
We later purchased our own Arcade shop where I used to play games on Arcades for free (of course). Got Gaming PC in late 90s for Half Life, Counter Strike, Max Payne etc.

And yeas indeed plus the boss battles were the graphics kings lol. Seriously, used to think those battles were like next gen man.

I started with pong in the early 70s. I followed that up with the Atari 5200 and TRS-80. My friends had Coleco Vision and Intellivision so I had always went to their place to play on those (until I got my own).

I think around 1990 on a Mac Plus. Parachute and the original Test Drive. I think that's what it was called... Then I got an SNES in the same year.
First system was a Texas instruments computer, had a bunch of educational games for it but I can't remember the names of any of them (I was maybe 4 years old).
First system with actual games was the Atari 2600, probably around 1982 or 83. First games were pacman and some shooter from sega which needed the paddles to play properly but we never had them.
The first video game that I ever played was probably a Pac-man arcade cabinet in the early 1980s. The Spy Hunter arcade machine was another early favorite.
The first home console was a later generation Atari 2600. I had a bunch of crummy games for the 'ol Atari, including the now infamous E.T.
Nintendo's Donkey Kong 'Game & Watch' was my first portable video game. Must've been around 1984 or 1985.
My love of video games really took off when I received the Nintendo Entertainment System during Christmas of 1986. I actually snuck out in the middle of the night to inspect the wrapped package, only to be discovered by my father. He was kind enough to let me open it up, and he hooked it up to the TV for me. He went back to bed and I played Super Mario Bros. until the sun came up!
I'd say around 1988-1989 i was pretty young so can't remember exactly. Had a coleco and I remember playing ladybug. Also had a NES shortly after that and lots of Mario games and of course legend of zelda.
It was in and around 1979-80 on whatever computer was at my dad's work. The first one I remember was the BBC and the first one we actually owned was some pong console thingy and then the Vic 20 of Christmas 1981.
Some time in 85 or 86.
2600
Had a whole slew of hand me down games from my older bro, but the ones that really stuck with me were Combat, Jungle Hunt, and Space Invaders.

And damn Indz, you started gaming in 05 and joined the forums in 06? Just seems so odd. Somehow I feel fortunate to have gamed for years before seeing the inherent negativity of gaming forums lol.
