Neither of the other two Counter Strike games or Team Fortress classic. Just between these two.
Anyway, it's a hard pick for me, but I'm leaning towards Counter Strike: Source right now.
What say you?

I like TF 2 for the artstyle but I'm not a big fan of either games, I like Halo 3 though.jeffdoomsday

That's not true. CSS it's either kill the other team( just a result of the following 2 scenarios), rescue hostages, plant/difuse the bomb, extract the vp( hardly ever played)I guess you could count things like surfing or gungame or even *sigh* deathmatch.
You can't even compare the two...CS:S has been going strong for years, TF2 is a fad release of this year that will be forgotten, sorry but CS 1.6 and CS:S have been played forever, and are still good, having MANY MANY mods.
TF2 is fun, I admit, but it doesn't have the long lasting competitiveness of CS:S.

Do you know how long Team Fortress has been around and how its maintained its popularity for so many years?... since 1996..
People still play Quake World TF, TFC, Fortress Forever and of course TF2.
TF2. Best team-based multiplayer this gen and will go down in history as one of the best.
Teamwork is vital, classes are all well balanced, the game of course also overflows with character and personality.
Personally, it's the best MP game I've ever played.
I really don't like CS Source that much. I prefer 1.6 a lot more if it wasn't so filled with bots.
TF2 rules. I don't really like CS:S or any CS for that matter. TF2 is so much fun. It seriously is so good when your team works together and you annihilate the other team.

You're underselling Counter-Strike with that description, it does has a simple premise, however, it creates the framework for the most intense and strategical online shooter. It's the maps, the different weapons and individual strategies for the relative maps that make CS what it is. By using that analysis, it's clear that you don't know the appeal of Counter-Strike.---
Counter-Strike is a game that's hard to get, many are deterred by the steep learning curve, many believe that it's too simple, people get frustrated by having to wait minutes after each death. However, after about a good 5 months of playing, you'll begin to appreciate it's "sudden death" nature, it provides the most intense moments, similarly, it provides the the most satisfying moments. It's all about learning recoil patterns and familiarising yourself with the effective paths in maps. TF2 is great, whether it'll have the legs to compete with Counter-Strike is yet to be seen. For now though, it's CS.
TF2. i tried CS:S and i just dont like waiting for the next round to respawn.themagicbum9720
Not every match is like that, though. I've only played Counter Strike: Source for about an hour (Team Fortress 2 for seven hours.), and it seems to me that there are servers that let you respawn instantly.
CSS competitively. For people who just wanna run around TF2. my xfire :PBrainkiller05
3264 hours!?
So, uh... What other games do you play? :P

That was a pain in the butt. I started going to smaller servers so I wouldn't have to wait as long.
