Out of curiosity what price point would motivate you to buy a Wii U?

I haven't been to fond of Nintendo products recently. I'd pick one up at 149.99 if it included a game.
Just got one a couple of days ago for $427.15 off the official store so I guess that much. I have 8 games ready and waiting to play. I am 100% sure I will enjoy all of them.
I have 4 PS4 games. I regret buying all but one of them (Second Son).
Morale of the story?
I should have bought a Wii U first and waited even longer than I did to buy a PS4 (I thought I waited long enough, but I guess not. I will be stronger next-gen!)
I pick no sides. Whichever system provides me the most fun/value for money gets the thumbs up from me.
OT: Does the Wii U have anything like the Thrustmaster steering wheels for it? I'd like to try it on Mario Kart 8 when I play it and ultimately for Project Cars.
$50? maybe...
Really it's not even the price that is the issue. it's the amount of games... I bought xbox one for $500 because it has the games i want not the price... If ps4 had anything good i wanted i would bought that to.
2014~ H???? warriors, smash bros, skylanders is literally the only games coming out this year... Shit the wii u version of smash bros don't even have a real release date.
2014-bayoneta, squid game. Maybe x and zelda if you are lucky...
every game wii u had there is AT LEAST 5+ solid games on x1/ps4 to take it's place
I'm ok with the price but I'd like 3d world bundle physical copy of the game of course I'm not looking to buy an ehdd right away, my digital library on wii u will be slowly grown
Has nothing to do with price. Has to do with it being catered to kids. Bring back the Nintendo of the 80s and I'm in.

You paid $427.15 for a Wii U?
Please tell me this was monopoly money.

Things haven't changed all that much.
The Wii U is looking better than ever after the Zelda Wii U announcement, and it's also getting to be more affordable....
And yet, there's three things holding me back from getting one, regardless of price.
1. The first is that while the upcoming exclusives look good, they're not games that I absolutely feel the need to have right away, especially since I already have a number of really good 3DS Nintendo games already to buy and get through.
2. Nintendo has a track record of having much shorter console generations than Sony. When their systems are popular, their console generation lasts about 6 years. When their system is not successful (ie, unfortunately, the Wii U), their console generation seems to last about 5 years.
3. Iwata has gone on record to say he would like the next system to take advantage of the Wii U architecture. I take that to also mean the next system will probably be backwards compatible.
In short, I expect Nintendo will have a more compelling, more technically advanced, and probably more successful system out by 2017. That's only 3 years from now. I can probably just pick up the good Wii U exclusives later on their next console.
I'm already very interested but I tend to let the games I buy just sit there (seriously, I have over a dozen games still in their shrink wrap for PS3/360/Wii...yeah) and it's really not in my wallet's best interest to buy anything else until I've played those games first. Oh and the Steam Summer Sale...I bought so many games I know I'll never play them all. >_>

Nintendo of the 80's CATERED to kids and families.
I don't need motivation, that's the old way of thinking. Not calling anyone in particular fanboys, but it's mainly them and they need to let that go. It was funny and even true a year ago, but you guys are just under-estimating the system now. IMO it's already better than the GC and Wii. After e3 it has become apparent that the Wii U well worth owning. It has the exclusives now and upcoming. It looks like the perfect addition to the PC imo.
I need to decide whether to swap my X1 for it. I might be being premature though, I just wish I hadn't early adopted. A SERIOUSLY DUMB move. I know it's only the first year but the offerings on the PS4 and X1 are seriously dry right now.

You obviously weren't around during this time period.
Multiplats on a console? Ewww, especially when $400 pc hardware plays them better than any $400 console.
No one believes that not even you so stop trying.
That guy was begging for multiplats for the Wii U before. When it was obvious they weren't getting it, the new thing was to make fun of all console multiplats. Now he's adding the "$400 PC Ultra Settings 1080p/60+fps-for-all-next-gen-games" falsehood to further attempt to humiliate the PS4 after the Wii U and defenders took a shot to their pride.
I want to see this $400 PC that you buy today that will run the new Witcher 3, Watch_Dogs PC and Assassin's Creed: Unity all at 1080p/60+fps (or even 4K) Ultra Settings with no compromises.
I can't wait when I see them link us towards some shady Russian site that shows this "$400 PC" they keep talking about. You may or may not get your PC through them. The fun is in the gamble and guessing where your credit card info will end up.
He didn't say the PC would run the game on ultra settings with no compromises. He said it would run them better than the PS4, which means if you put the settings on low/med, the game will run at 1080p with a better frame rate than the PS4.
@elaisse2: Nintendo, perhaps due to the lack of an actual conference with presenters, showed a greater proportion of their time on games. Not by that much. But on the whole in terms of time, a lot less than the other two.
Microsoft, 1 hour 30, 75% of time gameplay, 1 hour 15 gameplay
Sony, 1 hour 48, 60 percent gameplay, 1 hour 5 mins approx gameplay
Nintendo, 47 minutes, 89% gameplay, 42 minutes gameplay.
They also had a lot less games shown, so they tended to go into more depth with what they did have. Nintendo, 12 games, Sony, 42 games. 3.5 times more. Sony's conference would have to have lasted 165 minutes if they dedicated as much time on each game as Nintendo.
In short, least games, least gameplay footage.
You are completely ignoring all of the trailers and gameplay footage they showed through Nintendo Treehouse throughout E3.

No, but I do know that Nintendo has always been the freaking same since then. To say they never catered to kids is just plain wrong, considering most gamers who played consoles at the time WERE kids and their leading franchises were AIMED for that audience.

Why does this post exist? Damn it! I can't delete now.
OMG are you still sucking Nintendos shlong? They are a shadow of their former selves. Simple as pie brah.
Your opinion isn't the Word of God...
Nope. It's just fact LOL.
Nope, Nintendo being downhill is an opinion. YOUR (and some others) opinion.
$200
The big leg up that I give Nintendo over the PS4 and XBone is the RPG catalog both now and coming in the future. For some reason it seems like Sony and Microsoft especially are just interested in FPS's and Platformers. I really don't considers games like the "Soul" series to be RPG's.
I agree. DK TF is objectively better than Donkey Kong Country. Mario 3D World is objectively better than Mario 64/Galaxy. Mario Kart 8 is objectively better than Mario kart 64. Zelda U will be better than OoT, TP, and SS right? Sorry but it doesn't work like that. Halo 3 >>>>> Halo 4 by many peoples opinion. UC2 >>>>>>> UC3 as the general consensus. Games don't continue to just get better all the time unfortunately. Your opinion may be that, but it's not exactly how it is.
That can be said for YOUR opinion. Because YOUR opinion on Nintendo isn't fact. You're pretty much saying to me and other Nintendo fans: STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE!
$149.99 and i'm out the door on my way to get one. Until then, I can't justify it after feeling so ripped off with the Wii.
I only plan to get about 3-5 games for it, so I would say 250AUD. For reference, JB Hi-Fi are selling a Wii U for 419AUD with Mario Kart 8. There's some better deals, but still not what I'm after, and I still also have to wait until Fatal Frame comes out later this year, if it makes it here.
