Hey everyone!

I was wondering a lot about starting to collect trophies and achievements for the simple reason of accomplishment and completion of a game. I know a lot of people do NOT like achievements, but I personally think it's a nice addition to games and add replay value.

What bothers me is the multiplayer achievements and the tedious ones too.

What's your opinion on the subject? I know their were a few of these topics before, I just want to revisit the subject once more :P

Yay or ney on trophies? Or do you just not care at all?

Not much. I like the feeling of getting trophies, but I've decided to not go out of my way for them.

They kind of help with adding replay value for me, but if its a really good game I like, I'm going to replay the game anyways.

Some of them are just fun to go and try for, and have some unique tasks to complete. Others you look at the requirements and say "Well looks like I'm not going to 100% this game" and some games you just want to have that 100%, but they want you to get 350 blast shards, and it can be the most tedious thing you ever do, but You loved the game so much that you gotta get the 100% (and in this case a Platinum Trophy)

haha, but yeah they're fun, but can be a pain and shouldn't hinder a games experience, or be the entire point of the game

I think they offer some nice replay value to a game. Of course, I want to have fun while I'm trying to get them. And like you said, I don't like tedious ones nor ones in multiplayer.

I only got platinum in Assassin's Creed II, and I would have replayed that game even if it didn't have trophies, evidenced by the fact I'm beating it again, after platinum-ing it. it's kinda weird though, I got platinum, but they won't give me 100% DNA sync... I still have few more treasures to find, but that's too small of a thing to have huge 2.3% off. do i need DLC secret locations to get 100%?

I enjoy achievements when:

1.) They're for a game that I enjoy

2.) I have to go out of my way to get them

Achievements sometimes add replay value by telling you to go out of your way to do something that sometimes you would have never thought of doing. I personally enjoy doing random tasks to fully 100% a game that I really like.

Adds replay vaule for me and just makes me feel good. I never go out of my way to plat a game though. If the trophy is to much a pain in the butt I just move on.

replay value for me. i do think most trophies are too easy to get (prince of persia, im looking at you-- u get a trophy just for jumping)..... Trophies should be tough to obtain, i dont need a trophy telling me i beat the first level

I like the addition, but I only do trophies that I actually find "fun" to get. Not something like "Get the 250 electric shards" in Infamous. But something more like : "Beat the game last boss on very hard in less than 3 minutes" :D

They make games have less replay value, because their presence dissuades developers from implemented an in-game, and therefore meaningful, rewards system.

They don't really do anything for me, they are pretty much just there. I play games to play the games, not try to complete objectives that don't matter.

I'm indiferent to them. I play the way I want to play my games. I don't nnned to do something teddious just to have a message pop up sayin I win something irrelevant.

Mostly this ^

I had a friend who liked trophies and every time i would look at his profile he would have more and more like he was silently taunting me with his collection. Since then I have been secretely competing with him, but I can't catch up so I have given up on that and just do it for some good replay value.

I love achievements/trophies when you really like a game. It adds some nice replay value, and sometimes can be fun. An example would be the lady on the rail road tracks trophy in RDR. For games like Uncharted 2 and Assassins Creed 2, it makes you get more use out of great games.

They give me a reason to replay a game I wouldn't normally have played again after beating it. They also give me an incentive to play a game in ways that I wouldn't normally play them, like in DA: O I started off as a Rogue but I beat the game as a Warrior and now I'm playing through it as a Mage even though I prefer stealth and deception over magic and brute strength. I like trophies and I love collecting them but I'm not going to pass on a game if it doesn't have them though I can't help but feel that a game like Saint's Row 2 would have been much more fun had it had trophy support. It's fuuny, I have a friend who's constantly badgering me cause he thinks collecting trophies are a waste of time/ pointless but the joke's on him though since I don't put much value in what he thinks so while I'm busy enjoying myself doing the things I like, he'll just be sitting in his dark little corner just hatin'.:lol:

Never cared for them. If they would unlock something, then I'd care, but as long as achievements do nothing, I couldn't care less. I understand people feel good about themselves when collecting them, but I do not.
