Breath of the Wild, while I think it has a lot of the Witcher's same gameplay flaws: Combat is devoid of depth, it rarely uses enemies in interesting ways, lots of filler, and all that jazz. There is more depth to some of its ideas overall. The exploration is 2nd to none, and judging by how some of the better shrines work in that game it's an absolute delight to speed run I bet, which I plan on trying. The sheer level of freedom is liberating in that game, and it creates far more dynamic and emergent sequences of gameplay that isn't there in a game like The Witcher 3.
The Witcher 3 is more directed, it certainly has a more engaging narrative n characters, but it would have all of Zelda's short comings from a gameplay standpoint, but no where in the same ball park with the positives. And I don't know, call me ol fashioned, but I judge a game more on what it does from interactions standpoint (IE the fucking gameplay) than I do the other shit.
