The reason some devs have for 30fps is pretty ridiculous. I know most gamers are morons, but there are a few that can see though the B.S.

Sony has turned the whole 1080p/60FPS thing into a buzzword. People are going to want that and when they don't get it they are going to be pissed.
30 fps only makes sense if you're a god damn moron...or if you're developing South Park: The Stick of Truth and want the animation to look like the show.
But yeah, this is an id Tech 5 game...it's not going to be 30 fps on PC. They're doing damage control for the console versions right now.

If it was a fast paced game then maybe they would have sacrificed the graphics for more fps.

Only consoles need to worry about compromising on graphics to get reasonable performance.

Even if the console was super high end it's very likely they would choose graphics over 60 fps.

Keep holding onto that sentiment...it's a big "what if" because the consoles just aren't powerful, at all. Better luck next gen, consoles.

The 360 was powerful for it's time yet most games were 30fps.
Horrible for PC gamers if that happen.
Oh but for consoleros it isn't? Somehow 30FPS on consoles is smoother than 30FPS on PC?
Makes more sense for survival horror? So you can be horrified by the framerate as well?
Now that's a good joke!

Lazy developers hurt all gamers.
i don't get why devs lock PC games at 30fps. What I mean is that part of the PC experience is customizing your own experience not being told what experience is best for you. I don't buy any games that are locked at 30fps. Not because I can't play games at 30fps but because any dev that caps fps on PC just doesn't get it and will not be getting my support.
30 FPS "makes more sense for a survival horror game"? What the ****? I can't wait for TB's video on this nonsense...
Edit: I bet that's just an excuse for some technical limitation, like the animations are tied to the framerate or something, otherwise I don't see why they couldn't simply give the user the ability to unlock the framerate if they so desire...
Wait a few days after PC launch. Modders will probably unlock framerate cap and VRAM reqs. Just like they did with CoD Ghosts.
lame if true (hope not cause its ridiculous to cap PC framerate)...still getting it tho...seems similar to RE4 (fav game). :P
how can a game look this shitty and run at 30fps? wtf are Japanese devs smoking?
that's the question everyone's been asking since the PC requirements were released. How can a game demand so much yet only be 30 frames and still look like shit. It's insane.

I think Japanese devs are ill-equipped in using game engines from the West. They are very behind in the know-how of engines like id, Unreal, Unity, etc.

Shit Tech 5.
Sooo. Forced parity and fuckery with the PC port and it's requirements?
It's almost like they want it to bomb on PC.
Yeah they've been really shady about this whole thing. Bethesda is scum.
Watch them try some silly shit like having preset graphics options and tying Super Sampling to the highest one.
