@hardwenzen: so what are the best action movies?

From the older movies? Apocalypse Now is excellent and has no cheese. Full Metal Jacket was great and with no cheese.

And if you want old cheese, quality cheese, you watch good movies with cheese, cheese that is fitting.

Romancing stone is not action movie. just romantic adventure.

Action for me is non stop action. like John wick, Mad max fury road, Terminator 2, Die Hard, Matrix etc.

slow action like Robocop I appreciate too.

Romancing Stone has more action than your james bond movies.

Goldeneye and Casino royale are very action packed.

I watched Romancing the stone it was ok. lost city with sandra bullock is better movie. same premise.

I'm thinking of finally starting either the Witcher 3 or Mass Effect Andromeda as there isn't anything else I want to play at the moment.

Shit i'm even contemplating watching a movie or two.

@last_lap: witcher 3 got a big graphical overhaul for ps5/series x. it does look really nice tbf. it's a game i really want to be able to get into, but it just doesn't click with me. there's a few things like controls, combat, inventory etc. that i just don't seem to get on with.

andromeda should have been patched by now to fix all the weird facial animations. that might be better suited to you with its combat than a hacky slashy witcher 3. but keep your expectations low

@Macutchi: Yeah, I know about the update because it was like 50gb, I haven't played a Witcher game, and I have 2 & 3 but have never really got close to starting it for some reason.

As for Andromeda, well i've played and finished all 3 previous games to 100%, but can't seem to pull the trigger on it, facial animations don't mean much to me as I skip all cutscenes and don't take too much notice of that stuff.

I was just looking at my bookshelf and there are like 40-50 games just sitting on there and I can't seem to pull the trigger on anything (other than Remnant 2 but i've done nearly everything in it) and yet been playing plenty of retro stuff.

I think i'm just over the current gen, except for racing games and third person shooters but i've burned through all the good ones.

I find this to be so weird. I wouldn't want to have a god damn convo with an ai, especially after the @ronvalencia prototype we had years before chatgpt.

was playing with it this morning, not with the camera on, that's a bit weird.

it is very cool tbf. i'm going to south france this weekend so was trying it as a real time translator and it was flawless. they must've had some technical issues because it's completely disappeared off the app now

i can't really settle with anything either at the minute. doing a lot of game hopping between systems. might give andromeda a try again, think i played it for about an hour when i first bought it, then for reasons i can't remember never picked it back up again. they may have been good reasons

@Macutchi: I'm just playing a lot of my retro consoles and the more I play them the less I want to play current gen games, but I think i'm gonna give Andromeda a go and leave Witcher 3 until I retire as it's a big game.

@last_lap: @Macutchi: I've been playing some older games that were considered kinda mid even at the time of release, and having a lot of fun with them. Stuff like Bloody Roar: Primal Fury, XGRA, and Lost Kingdoms 2 weren't exactly the peak of their genres, but even the 7/10 type games put more emphasis on being fun back then.

@judaspete: It's also nice to play ganes were you unlock things like extra cars, characters, clothes etc and are not asked to buy through a digital marketplace.

Gaming was so much simpler and better when it wasn't as popular.

Just got done watching Shogun, it really surpass my expectation as some are saying its the Game of Thrones killer, its far from that. It's sad I haven't seen anyone here on Gamespot talk about Shogun...not even in OT. Shogun is so amazing because it plays with the audience's expectations and values as western viewers.

Edit: Never watch the 80s version so not gonna bother seeing it.

@davillain: tbh this reminds me of John Wick where find the praise abit weird.

Like, SK, China, have tons and tons of stuff like this. 60 odd single run series. Quality varies, but they have, shit tons of them. Practically the norm.

@last_lap: Yeah, I don't want to get too Grampa Simpson MEME here, there is a lot of good stuff coming out these days, but things were simpler up to Gen 6. You got a complete experience that didn't try to rope you into anything else. They kept you engaged by being enjoyable, not with addiction and FOMO.

Did enjoy the Lethal Weapon movies as well. Not sure which one was my favourite, been awhile since I watched them.

Recently watched Kick Ass and it was, alright. The dark humour was kind of funny.

Missed this period of time where Keven Nash was the Wizard of Oz and accidently killed a monkey.

Even by wrestling standards WCW was fucking weird.

tbh though, this early stuff is way more interesting than the later stuff where 98% of of talent dressed like bikers and wore boring NWO T-shirts.

Watching that Kevin Nash/Oz video now but just wanted to say that not doing a Popeye character was a missed opportunity. Could have paired him up with an Olive character and after getting his ass kicked for awhile she would hand him some spinach so he could make a comeback victory.

@judaspete: You're more optimistic than I am as I struggle to find anything new worth playing these days.

I've spent at least 10x more on retro in the last 2yrs than I have current gen. I have the money ready to spend I just don't see anything worthy of my time, it's sad 😔

The animated one could be good.

Many disgusting normies forget that the first Lord Of The Ring trilogy was animated.

Not that good, but the rotorscope gives it a weird nightmare quality.

@last_lap: It's not like the old days, but still a fair amount of even AAA stuff I'm interested in. Just last year we had Baulder's Gate, Armored Core, High-fi Rush 😟, Hogwarts Legacy, Bayonetta Origins, Alan Wake 2. All games I... would have played if I had that kind of time. Maybe someday.

This is something I like about Asian shows compared to the West. They typically have a one and done approach where you will get an entire story 30-60 episodes, then it's over.

Jade Cargill’s physique is amazing. Also has fantastic outfits as well. Off the top of my head seen her do Storm, She-Hulk, and Cheetarah. She pulled them all off very well.
