Someone tell me some effective workout methods that don't involve carrying things up and down stairs. I need to gain weight and constantly be moving more often than not, so I bought a jump rope.
I highly recommend a medicine ball. You can get a very challenging and worthwhile workout from that one thing alone. Most of the exercises concentrate on improving functional movement and are very orientated at improving core strength, which in turn maintains/improves joint stability and strength. The exercise possibilities are endless.
A swiss ball is also another cheap and very worthwhile piece of equipment and is also very core and functional movement orientated.
Don't be fooled by their simplicity, as most people struggle to do some of the most basic exercises using a swiss or medicine ball.
For something to be strong, it has to have a strong base to start from.
I will buy one of these definitely. Thanks. Right now I just use my weights as a replacement for a medicine ball. I had no idea about a Swiss ball, that actually seems ingenious now that I see what they are.
