In before consolites start combining 4 different consoles from 2 different brands as if they're the same and consoles are united.
Edit: Oh look someone is already hiding behind Demon's Souls
Anyway impressive how most of the sales are from Dark Souls 1 even though it was a SUPER BAD port imagine if the game was properly optimized and had mod support.
So if 40% went to PC, where's the other 60% go? Consoles?
Isn't 60 > 40?
yeah because we know MS and Sony share their profit and Xbox and Playstation are one and the same
@adamosmaki: "Souls series. Pc outsold consoles"
So PC didn't outsell consoles?
It outsold other platforms if it makes you feel better ( xbox and playstation are different platforms ).
Looking at Blab's post, seems like the franchise got outsold by consoles. Glad to have that clarified.
In b4 massive consolite denial.
*edit* Too late. You know you've already lost when you start picking apart grammar.
PC Gamers love challenging games. That's why best selling games on Consoles are COD, FIFA or Madden (and exclusives are also for wider audiences), while the ones on PC are competitive games or the ones with high replay value .
Now imagine number of sales on PC, if they had made better PC ports and released all Souls games on PC and on exact same date as Consoles....
EDIT:
Lol at combining different platforms to compete against one platform. Same old tactic.

60% spread out on 4 different consoles.... The OP worded what he meant incorrectly.
Kinda unfair to compare PC sales to each console individually.
How on Earth can you rationalize that, they're all individual and different platforms.

They're two different markets. PC has a larger install base and larger gross revenue than all current and last gen consoles combined, so it would make much more sense to compare consoles vs. PC in regards to sales.

Easily? Console is a type of platform and PC is another type. Herms are loving it because there is more than one type for consoles so sales are spread.

What bullshit statistic that you just made up are you basing this on? An Xbox One is not an Xbox 360, different platform entirely, a PlayStation 4 is not a PlayStation 3, different platform entirely. They're not interchanagle, this isn't fucking Lego's, you're trying to mix Lincoln Logs, Lego's, Megablocks and K'NEX together as if they're one united system, they're not.

This was definitely some sort of strange, self-defeating Freudian slip.
It's true! To get the kind of quality and quantity you get on PC you have to own every console and pay online fees for each and you still come up short. What a bitch life is, right?

When are you going to stop using this damage control?
Trolling from all sides aside, DS's growth and popularity on PC is very surprising.
The series is very............console centric and even DS2 has shit k/m support. Not that other console centric games don't do well on PC. If they didn't, we wouldn't be getting pc versions for every game out there.
But looking at the Souls history, from playstation exclusive, to multiplat, to horrible pc port, to DS2, to present state, it's quite funny and intersting.
Has i said some months ago when i posted DS2's sales thread, i don't see From Software making another ps4 exclusive souls games.

well its mostly a WRPG game ( and a great one at that ) and WRPG's always are hugely popular on pc so its sales might not be that surprising even though it was a bad port ( imagine if it actually was a great port )

I'm glad it's selling so well. Hopefully it'll help the series going in a positive direction

711 million PC gamers worldwide according to Intel
PC gaming to exceed $25b USD
Of course console ports are going to sell very well on PC.
Hermits always get super excited when they find out a console game is being ported to PC.
Why do you think Hermits always beg for console games to be ported to PC?
Exactly.
THHBFO!!!
@Ant_17: @Chutebox: Very true. I just hope that From doesn't milk it after DS3. I know, BB isn't a direct sequel and it's not multiplat, but hell, Miyazaki is directing both. It's basically 3 souls games in 3 years.
Let teh series chill for a year or 2.

A large chunk of those gamers are from Asia and most traditional single player 1 time pay do not make it to Asia for many reasons like some not owning gaming PCs and going to cafes whenever they want to play.
They're basically in their own world of gaming just like Japan is.

5XX million of them are playing Farmville on Facebook, that's statistical data taken from a person engaging in any form of game on a PC, not PC gaming or gamers... If there were 711 million ACTUAL PC gamers the sales would be four+ times higher than any game that shared a console relationship.
You don't use your head do you...
@StealthMonkey4
So do you admit the Souls series sold best on PC out of any other system, by a large margin?
Not sure what you're asking, but numbers are what they are. They are objective fact. Console represents 60% of Souls series sales. Steam also gets a great deal of its numbers from Steam sales, so until a revenue breakdown by platform is released, we don't know the revenue split.

Changing the goal posts. Nice. PC has a significantly large userbase and a larger revenue stream than consoles as a whole, yet you still insist on dividing the consoles when comparing to PC. Should PC users be divided by OS or the price of their rig?
PC gamers have a tendency to like either challenging or competitive games, not rail shooters/movies.
Glad Sony was too stupid to make them first party and the first souls game sold so poorly as a console exclusive.
Now I don't have to buy a console to get in on the only exclusive I would have cared about.
