Sony: PS4 will have the biggest launch lineup in PlayStation history

The PlayStation 4 will have the strongest software launch lineup in PlayStation history. That's according to lead system architect Mark Cerny, who told Gamasutra that this is the result of developers being familiar with the system's PC-based architecture.

"The launch lineup for PlayStation 4--though I unfortunately can't give the title count--is going to be stronger than any prior PlayStation hardware," Cerny said. "And that's a result of that familiarity."

Previously confirmed PS4 launch titles include Killzone: Shadow Fall, Watch Dogs, DriveClub, and Knack.

Sony has confirmed the PS4 will launch this holiday season, but has not announced region-specific availability or pricing for the next-generation platform.

GameStop believes the console will launch worldwide this holiday, while an unconfirmed report suggests two models will be available in November at $430 and $530.

Not to be a negative nancy, but none of the other PSs launch line ups were very big, so better could mean slightly less shit.

The Vita's launch lineup was pretty strong in my eyes. Second only to PSP Playstattion wise.

So long as there's a good number of exclusives I like, the PS4 is a must-buy for me (I still like multiplats on the PC). So far, there's at least two PS4 exclusives I'm looking forward to.

PSP and PS Vita launch line up's were great. They both had a similar shitty problem though. Game prices and memory cards. 

It's great finally we getting a good launch. With PS3 i had nothing to buy, resistance was lame and motorstorm meh. Now there is lots to pick from day 1, i cant wait for KZ SF... then we have Watch Dogs, ACIV black flag, Drive Club... and this is just the tip of the iceberg. At E3 we see the rest.

Well, looking back at their past launches, the bar isn't really that high. But if the games we saw so far are launch titles and there's some surprising new game(s) (like a new Legend of Dragoon?), it will be pretty cool

Why would they? They have a crazy amount of third party jumping in and Guerrilla/Naughty Dog alone are currently working on 4 next gen games... quantic dreams on another, santa monica on another... the games will just keep on coming.

Just like always, they will announce them and then 75% of the launch games will be a no show until a year or two later.

You could add multi-platform/console games re-release @ HD resolution (i.e. codebase and art assets already exist from PC world) and new 2013 games.
