So now your console is only good for 3 years. Not worth buying consoles anymore.

Being able to enjoy the best of everything, while upgrading however much you want whenever you want? Yeah, it sucks.

Unless you bought the latest GPU/ CPU you are not enjoying the best of everything.

With consoles you are never enjoying the best of everything.

But at least you're not paying $1500 for a rig that will be obsolete in 12 months.

I know you are trying to defend consoles which is fine but you don't have to make up lies to do it. A $1500 PC is factually not obsolete after 12 months, It still runs games great. If you mean it is no longer the newest, then consoles are obsolete by that definition the day they release, let's try to stick to facts here please. My PC is 3 years old and I still run every major game on the market that I play great.

I was simply using his logic. In reality neither are obsolete and you can enjoy them for years to come.

I’ll continue playing my PS5 I got on day one and won’t be buying the upgraded version so my money is not going down the drain.

Nah, my OG PS5 will be fine. It's barely been used, so definitely not gonna upgrade if the Pro is a thing.

lol, what? Nothing I said was wrong, while you were lying. Noticed that I stopped replying as soon as you started to lie? That's because I knew it's pointless to continue.

It's ok kid, you're allowed to say the ps5 pro specs are underwhelming and the possibility of more 30fps from another upgrade just won't do.....on 2nd thoughts just stick to the bu bu bu xbox damage control...you're a lost cause.

You're a pathetic Sony Shlong Slurper aren't you.
You're a pathetic Sony Shlong Slurper aren't you.

Get outta here. Everybody thought Series X was going to trounce PS5 in power, and that never happened. So Xbots ran back to trying to sell Xbox on Game Pass, and that didn't fly either. Now here comes an upgrade from Sony that's really gonna put the hurt on Xbox. You've been dick riding a dead console so long that you're a necrophiliac now.

we got way better ones

I don't believe that one bit.

The Phison E26 Max14um ES 2TB SSD delivers speeds of more than 14GB/s

tail end gen 3 drives hit as fast as 5gb a sec

fastest gen 4 is 7gb

ps5 ssd internal is a gen 4 at 5 gb with a burst small cache mode.

lastly

The Apex Storage X21 – a 21 SSD-capacity add-in-card (AIC)

hit a near 29 GB speed int 2023

nearly have the total speed of pci gen 5 spec.

I dont really see a reason to be particularly concerned. Considering how long Sony supported the PS4 even after the PS5 released, I dont think a PS5 pro will be necessary, the PS5 default will still be supported until the PS6 comes.

This is why you go PC.

Current-gen GPU's will last the current generation and next iteration, and likely half the iteration after that. Was rocking my GTX 980 well into the RTX 20xx iteration before I upgraded.

People often think that just because you're on PC you have to spend an arm and a leg but you really don't. It might be more expensive than a console, especially in the short term, but it's not prohibitively more expensive (especially in the long term).

To each their own, though. There's no shame in picking an inferior product like a console if you're happy settling 😀

A 980 can still run most modern games. Usually meeting minimum requirements.

Considering the state of AAA games, I don't see a reason to upgrade my 1070 in a long time. Especially now that Dragon's Dogma 2 was allegedly a disappointment.

Agreed, to each their own :)

I love my Switch, playing it almost exclusively while my PC is getting repairs.

Will still vastly outclass any console.

Being able to upgrade whenever one pleases, is way better than having the pace of our upgrades be dictated by a console manufacturer.

For a vast increase in price to go with it.

That's not the point of the argument. The point is do you feel your hardware is obsolete just because better hardware is available?

So now your super mega powerful PS5 is getting an upgrade after 3 years, before you really even get any great games for it. That's just fantastic. $500 down the drain after 3 years. Now your powerful console has been downgraded to the base model. 🤦‍♂️

It's not worth buying consoles anymore.

It really isn't...just a waste of money.

Even if the PC is the superior platform over consoles, what is preventing consoles from becoming the next typewriter? A viable market even if it is not as large as it used to be?

Dude you should have seen the fit the console people pitched when I told them I got an adapter to hook up my keyboard and mouse to my PS4.

You ask what's preventing it from being the next typewriter, and the answer is: they are!

Good god you would have thought I slept with their mom and sister. They were sooooooooo angry.

Listen, if they were so much better than what's inside my ps5, the likes of Digital Foundry wouldn't shut up about it, but instead, if they mentions fast loading screens, its only PS5 that comes in their conversation.

We both know that DF teams knows better than most developers, so why does it matter if they aren't developing games?

I don't get the reason to panic.

Your console still works, almost all games will still be developed primarily for the base console (as it has a huge existing number of owners). What exactly do you loose? Bragging rights?

You never had those, those were only for high end PCs. And they are not worth what you pay for them.
