Resident Evil ORC Hype thread!! GS score 4.5 flop D:

This is essentially Capcom's latest attempt at outsourcing to make games which appeal to western audiences. Like their last few attempts, I expect it to fail.

Its an alternate "What if" story/timeline. Really has nothing to do with the real/original timeline.

They're branching out to see what works with RE. Don't see a problem in that.

Don't they say the Tyrants don't differentiate? So if you come across one its going to try killing you anyway? I don't see why they'd want to kill Leon. He was basically nobody. Hell, that incident was his first day as a cop and he was useless. Seems odd to go out of the way to kill him.

As for the zombie shield thing, I think you fight other teams while fighting zombies, so you can use them as a shield.

I don't know why I'm defending this game...

Well yeah. I was just saying why target Leon specifically when he knew nothing, had little chance to survive, and was a low level police officer working his first day. I know this is in a different scenario, I was just wondering if Leon will be drastically different too.

Capcom happend lol, the only thing i'm liking is the tyrant he looks epic and could attack you anytime. BTW Umbrella didn't attck leon in RE2 why now ? i mean they only sent the tyrant now there is a spec ops or whatever you call em are trying to kill him, i want to see more MAYBE this will be better than RE5.

In the original RE2 the Alpha USS team was sent to retrieve the G-virus sample from William(and kill him), in the process he injects one of the G-virus sample and ends up killing most of the squad(Hunk survives).

Thats when they send Mr.X to go after the sample that sherry is carrying.

On this one we're looking at different team(which for all we know could have been hunting every survivor on RE2, but that isn't the case.). They're tasked with eliminating evidence that might incriminate Umbrella and killing every civilian and police officer(in other words Leon is not really "the main target" but just another guy, or so they think).

it would be really cool if the S.T.A.R.S and RPD members can be unlocked in multiplayer or something.

i also hope Jill is in the game, Barry too with his magnum :P

Im a huge RE fan and I must say after seeing a few hands on demos of this game it looks like it can pull a 7-7.5. Its a spin off and wont effect the core story line im assuming so its fine to try different things. I thought the game was going to be crap but after seeing some vids I can see some hope of it being a fun ol time with friends. Though to be honest the next RE game im really looking forward to is revelations for 3ds. Game looks smexy.

I really hate this game, but I guess I cant be mad at Capcom, they want some of the Modern Warfare insert FPS crowd...

Curiosity has led me to this thread... And seeing this video, i can't help but wonder. Are they e'fing serious? Looks like Gears of War, it even has a cover mechanic.

@gordo: Yeah, it seems he needs some work.

@Luciano: Well, this is a spinoff and they wanted to try something different, while I do prefer the older tittles I can't help but to feel excited over this game. Dunno if it's going back to Raccoon city (where it all started)and getting to experience it with improved graphics/enemies or if its because of the RE drought. :P
