They were still exclusively on the PS2.

The most powerful system that will never reach its potential. The PS2 was the weakest system and had the best diverse games, so many it was insane. Now PS4 is strongest and games come out like molasses. Sony needs some big games developed by their Studios, cant run off others for long.

yeah because the rules of the game were completely different back then. It's not Sony what changed but the market yet you guys try to use the PS2 as some kind of barometer to prove how far down PlayStation has fallen when during the PS3 days they pumped more 1st and 2nd party exclusives than Nintendo and the Xbox combined.

Now with the PS4, hasn't everyone delayed a game? Then why is bad that Sony is on the same boat? The only reason PC is finally going head to head with consoles and becoming more popular it's because of multiplats, not because Steam it's some kind of god send with a godly plan or its shit exclusives. It just happen that in the direction that the market is moving it benefits PC the most.

correction, it WAS the fastest....im pretty sure the steam consoles are upto 5 x stronger than a ps4

If you want to get technical a Steam Machine could technically be classified as a console, and in that case it demolishes the PlayStation 4 due to the hardware capabilities.

It's a system with the sole purpose and function by design of playing video games, by very definition it's a console, not to mention it has a proprietary operating system. We all know it's a PC but if you get down to the nitty gritty truth it is technically a console.

God damn 2001 was incredible though. I am currently playing 2 of those; that's how good it was.

- PC has the most games b/c theres no gen gap so it's been around for decades and it's an open platform....but they are all niche games.

Because it's a stupid thing to claim, it's as if this is something unheard of and people should be amazed, there's literally a more powerful console than the others every console generation... Also they have shit for games to show so they're trying to bank on two month old and long since irrelevant Bloodborne, multi-plats and the power of the system...

I posed the question to bring out the fact that saying something true in your marketing isn't wrong; saying wrong things is wrong, however.

e.g. Sony marketing No Man's Sky as a PS4 exclusive with an asterisk, or MS listing multiplats as exclusive on twitter.

Why is it different?

The steam machine is a gaming system first and whatever second. That's the whole idea of it and the basis of its marketing campaign.

PS4's hardware is actually very impressive when you consider the thermal, power and size limits Sony had to work around.

Could you build a faster PC? Yes, easily.

Could you build a faster PC in the same physical volume and power limitations? No.

So are smarthpones, you might want to game on them then...

In what way? If they made a 200 watt console like ps3, and had nothing like YLOD then i'd be impressed. Nobody told sony they had to make the ps4 as small as they did...

PS2 wasn't the weakest, that was the Sega Dreamcast.

Yes, the ps4 is the most capable console this generation but if you want the best gaming experience you should build or buy a pre-built gaming pc. You'd get better graphics, higher frame rates, much more responsive and precise gameplay etc.

Well yes, PS4 is the most powerful console to date but why stop there when I can own 2 more power consoles to my room, Xbox One and Wii U. I don't won't just one powerful console, I want them all and owning all 3 powerful consoles to my list, I am the ultimate Manticore in SW. All hail The Manticores.

Damn, I was just going to make this thread but someone beat me to it.

One could purchase gaming laptops with Geforce GTX 980M (faster than desktop GTX 960) or Radeon HD R9-M295X (faster than 7970 non-GE) and these are expensive.

Most powerful stinker.... Yay I suppose. :P
