Based on the title, I came in expecting girls in cars. *Walks away disappointed*

yeah the cars look great, too bad the track takes up the majority of the screen, and they rly do look terrible.
Most tracks are not finished yet and full of placeholder objects like the trees.
Here are the newer tree models that are not on all tracks yet:
The bushes and other plants aren't there yet either, but it's planned.
As for the environment, buildings etc. They look good, maybe not the best out there, but certainly not terrible. Don't forget that the game is aiming for 1080P and 60 fps on PS4 and has much more advanced physics than driveclub for example.
some of those show some good looking assets(tho i still think driveclub looks better in ever area except the cars). you rly have to cherry pick certain angles and times of day(the lighting in this game needs a LOT of work) or add tons of DOF and blur to make pcars look good. i dont think you have any idea how long it takes to create art for games, no way they are going to have time to fix up everything before launch.

Of course it won't be completely overhauled, but replacing the trees with better models is easy for example, same goes for creating a bunch of bushes and foliage and placing them around all the tracks where appropriate.
Also yeah, Driveclub looks better in many areas, but it's only 30 fps and has much worse physics and doesn't support 64 cars on track at once like Project CARS does.
been playing the beta for some time now, reminded me of shift 2 with much better physics.
Sounds really good
it also runs on a 400 ps4.
At a majestic 3 digit resolution with 30 fps. But it runs.
Dafuq you talking about? DriveClub beats PCARS on PC Maxed in pretty much every area graphically. The environments are expodentially more detailed, the Cars are about the same. The lighting in DC is better. As are reflections, weather effects, the lot. Only simulator like physics are better on PCARS which is expected of a simulator. Yes, it is 1080p 30 fps, but if that hinders the experience in any way, I'll be sure to tell you (It won't).
Bash PS4 all you want but you will never get visuals like PS4 exclusives on a PC the same price. Not gonna happen.
So in 5 years time when you can buy a $40 GPU for you PC that smacks PS4 around are you still going to stand by that comment?

a 780ti cant even run pcars at 60 fps at the same res
You sure about that?
Are you judging the framerate solely by Gamersyde? 1. Their video is back from May (and it says in the description they used an old build) 2. They were recording which can lower the fps quite a bit depending on what software you use to record and how fast your CPU and HDD is. 3. They were most likely running at it at settings way higher than the PS4 can achieve, if they recorded it on ultra. 4. Depending on which car they used and how far the development of said car was, it might not have the lower detail LODs yet, which means the game uses higher detailed ones in the distance which is a waste of performance. If you have 12 LODX cars instead of 2-3 that you would normally have around you, that would cause some framerate drops of course.

Lighting perhabs, but reflections? Hell no. Project CARS has some very detailed reflections on the cars and in the puddles.
As for weather effects, there are 14 different weather conditions incl. thunderstorm and foggy, the suns position is accurate on the track depending on the latitude and longitude of where the track is located in real life, you can change the time of year as well which changes the moon phase and suns position too.
Puddles build up when it starts to rain and dry up when sun comes out.
You really think DC can beat that attention to detail? I don't think so.

Do I think it's possible for DC to beat that attention to detail? Yes. Seen as Pcars will be a multiplat on PS4 and still feature those effects, DriveClub will be much more optimized for PS4 too. And you tell me, is PCARS better graphics than driveclub? Is this fact? Best thing to do is look at each game when released.
Nope, I think it's unrealistic to think that it will more weather settings and that deep of a weather system that Project CARS has.
Project CARS definitely beats Driveclub in some areas, we can judge that better when both games are released though.

But it runs in 30 FPS. I'm sorry but for any racing fan out there that is unacceptable especially in 2014.

you are running at the same settings the ps4 will probably be using if you obtain those fps on a single 780ti
Best on PC
Graphics, sure. Gameplay is the same and even better because you can play on a big tv

You can play PC on a big screen. Mine's connected to a Panasonic VT30 via HDMI.

He knows that. Or at least he should know that by now.

hence the "probably". the benchmarks i linked to however arent speculation at all. they are corroborated by other sites as well.

No word if they used the -x64 launch command or -dx11mt which enables multithreaded rendering. This can change performance quite a lot. These things are still being tested and not fully implemented yet and I doubt the testers knew about them.

Granted but I play games on PC, I expect the best. If I can get awesome detailed games on my PS4, great but I'm afraid to say that DC does not stand up to PCars. And, racers much like fighters are best played at a higher FPS.

from a graphics perspective?? lol

Higher and more stable frame rate on PC = Better game play experience

It's going to be 60fps on consoles. Even on Wii U. At low of course, but the gameplay is just as good.
that was my point

There's a big difference between a solid 60gps with no dips on PC vs 60fps on consoles that in reality runs 40-50fps.
Not a single console game that's been advertised has managed to sustain a complete and utter rock solid 60fps.
So still advantage PC
@scatteh316: Forza 5 rock solid 60 fps at 1080p on Xbone. I now it doesnt have day/night cycle and weather system but its rock solid with good grapichs for a launch game. Also a non racer MGS GZ on PS4 1080p & Xbone 720p. I agree that this game wil be better on PC , better AA, higher frame rate(probaly for people with 780ti or 290x for 120fps on high/max mix setting), 4K (for people with 780ti sli or 290x crossfire), better wheel support and triple screen.
