PC Hermits.. will you purchase a console next gen???

Just curious because the PC crowd on this forum is VERY adamant about the superiority of the platform. Why waste your money on another system if this is what you truly believe.

I get all my gaming needs from the 360.. (ok and the PC/Tablet from time to time). But I can see the value of the PS3, Gaming Rig, even the Wii. Next gen I may stick with one system again if the 3rd parties continue down their current path. However, I haven't decided which yet.

Probably not right away, after the first round of price drops I'll grab one.

Tough to say. I wasn't happy with the 360, but if the enxt xbox is any good I might go for it, depending on the games, and if I get a new TV.

I bought all three this gen and honestly,for the little use I give them I think it was a poor investment,next gen maybe I´ll get one but at the very least two or three years after the release.

I bought a console this gen, largely for the motion control aspect as I thought that it would be more suitable in front of a TV. As it turned out I only used it for about 2 weeks before the motion control novelty wore off. It gathered dust for about a year after that until I sold it. I have so many PC games to play and so many come out that I am never looking anywhere else for other games. The only thing that could sway me would be perhaps some sort of vastly improved motion control situation/game that wasn't available on the PC. Other than that, I don't really see the point.

I want to get back into playing handhelds a lot more often like I did at the start of this gen, so I'm trying to convince a friend or two to look into buying one.

So depending on what they choose I'm sure I'll have a 3DS or a PS Vita at some point in the future.

Yeah, maybe not the first day, but I'll get one. In fact I might get next gen systems the first day if they have amaZing launch titles, but I could probably spend a few months getting my games on my still capable PC until I get a console if not.

I'll wait a year at least. The install base will be small at first. The games will likely suck because the devs are still trying to figure out the hardware.

In a year or two prices would have come down a bit, better exclusives will be out and games will look pretty close to as good as their going to look for the rest of the lifecycle.

THEN I'll probably pick the best one and pick that up.

Thing is, the best one, for me, will probably not have that much to do with games, as I don't suspect that my situaiton will change. My Pc will continue to be my promary gmaing platform, so the "best" console will probably be the one that offers the best "home theater" features, and I'll consider the game library second.

We'll see.Im PC only(used a PS3 for a few months to play some PS3 exclusives,don't own it anymore),but when Next Gen starts pumping out some interesting exclusives,maybe I'll get the console that I personally consider better established on the market with more games I find appealing.But PC stays my primary platform,as always.Console is only a suplement...

I have a two console supplements 360/PS3.

But Im going strictly PC/Possibly new Playstation next gen.

Yup. I'm buying a WiiU. It's for family though. Plus, I want a Vita for me.

Probably not. I'm not a fan of controllers and I prefer to be pretty close to my screen. Point besides the genres I enjoy most are either not represented on consoles very well (TBS/RTS) or not at all (Simulation).

The only console I have from this gen is a handheld (PSP) and that's almost exclusively used for retro collections.

Only if the exclusives are worth it..

I will definately by a PS4 on launch as long at it has a standard controller, motion control and tablet function are gimmicky and annoy me and I will not support there casualisation of gaming.

I'm getting Wii-U day one. Might next PS4. Never touching whatever abomination Microsoft brings out.

I have a ps3 so I might get a ps4 after the price drops. Till then I will stick with my pc/ps3 combo.
