Not surprising given the laptop based internals.

So with the extra cash I got this week I went in search of a PS4 to pre-order before next weeks launch..... sold out EVERYWHERE!
I got mine on lock! Getting some extra swag with mine. Its a week away D:
If I did get one I'd likely regret it cos I still know there's nothing to play on it. But I want it, I want iiiiit!!

Not really helpful for Ireland
I guess nobody got Trine for the PS4? I'd like to know if I could use the Vita as a second controller for co-op.
I hit up Radio Shack today. Got a 2.5mm female to 3.5mm stereo adapter for $1.00 on sale. Hooked my 360 headset up to my PS4 remote lol.
I didn't chose X1 cuz it sucks ass. Next question, please.
Next question: Do you even lift, Bro?

Yes, I do :).
@seanmcloughlin:
That's awesome. bu bu bu it runs so hot!!1111!
Yeah people were constantly saying it would have over heating issues and the thing doesn't even run all that hot
Wow, I used the Dual Shock 4...
and was quite disappointed. I'm gonna put some sort of skin/go third-party as soon as they're available for the PS4.
Oh really? What didn't you like about it?
Speaking of controllers I'm hearing that both the X1 and PS4 controllers have "loser" sticks compared to the DS3 and X630 ones. Which is quite odd.. I'm guessing it probably has something to do with the smaller "deadzones" and higher sensiblity.
First and foremost, I was expecting a bigger size difference. The grips were longer, but didn't feel thicker, meaning that my pinkies still rest awkwardly like they did with the DS3. The R1 and L1 buttons didn't feel nearly as nice as they did on the DS3's and are still behind the 360's controller in terms of comfort.
The analog sticks felt way too small, I dislike the deep valley that was put in them, and they lack the texturing the DS3 had while not being as comfortable as the 360's either. The grip that's there at the bottom of the front and on the back is great, but the plastic on the front felt strange. For all I know, it could be some sort of placebo and the exact same plastic as what's on the DS3, but something about it made it feel so cheap and annoying for the flesh of my thumbs to rest on.
Overall, my two biggest gripes are the plastic and the huge valleys on the sticks, both of which seem easily fixable.

I bought Trine 2 for the Wiiu, I'm not buying it again.
That was a free PS+ game not too long ago, and I saw you were on PS+ on my list. Maybe you missed Trine and Trine 2 being free on PSN? I also got it dirt cheap on PC in some bundle of course. By the time the Wii U released, I had already gotten it so cheap or free depending and beat it, but I did see it go on sale on Wii U in the store later on. I just swore off multiplat digital games on Wii U until they fix the Nintendo ID thing...plus, limited memory makes it an easy decision.
PS4.. i like the controller much more, $100 less, more powerful, smaller, more games in development.... looking forward to exclusives Shadow Fall, The Order 1886, Gran Turismo 7, Last Guardian... superior multiplats MGSV, the evil within, PES... all multiplats better on PS4.
PS4........more powerful,1080p games, better games better controller and cheaper.
You forgot the "because I'm also a fanboy and would NEVER buy anything else anyway" part of that
@Allicrombie: You got the PS4 yet?
Yep! Got it on launch day
Nice, what games you got and overall are you liking it so far?

Got Killz One, Knackleberry Finn, Super Basketball Simulator 2k14, Injustice: Scalia Edition and Ass. Creed 4 + the free stuff. Having fun, haven't played as much as I'd like.
If you have a Vita, the remote play functionality of the PS4 is pretty sweet. It can come in handy.
I played Resogun for a few hours today while the lady watched a Blu-Ray movie on the main Plasma w/7.1. I wanted to semi watch it with her but having seen it I figured I'd play Resogun. I had already seen the movie, but I kind of watched it with her while gaming.
It was nice sitting next to her instead of having to go in the other room, which is what I usually do unless I bust out a handheld.
I did the same thing last year with the Wii U and New Super Mario Wii U. The instant PS4-Vita Remote Play a nice little feature, and it's incredibly easy to do.
In my experience, the Dual Shock 4 controller is amazing (as if fantastic reviewer DS4 testimonials weren't enough), but then again I don't feel as entitled as I come from the Atari 2600 era when we had one single orange button and a rock hard arcade/analog stick that could barely move. I know my roots and I'm very adaptable to modern technology. I understand preferences...but I read a bit of negative hyperbole coming from known suspect sources.
Also, there is a lot to be said about spending hours of hands on time with a controller from any machine and using it for a limited time at some alien location like a store kiosk.
I feel lucky to use the Xbone/Wii U/PS4/360/PS3/Wii/Xbox/PS2/Gamecube/Dreamcast/Saturn/Playstation/N64 controllers these days. Gamers today are spoiled.
@SolidTy: I agree the dual shock 4 is a great controller. Huge improvement from the dual shock 3. Like you, I've had the pleasure if using many controllers dating back to the NES days. Gamers are spoiled nowadays. If only they used the controllers back in the day, they would appreciate what Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo are doing to enhance the controllers for modern games. No way you would use an NES or SNES or Sega Genesis controller for today's games.

@SolidTy: I am 80's child too so well aware of the way things were with the atari, amiga, spectrum etc, and yes we are spoiled these days. but looking back with rose tinted glasses aside, no way in hell you would be happy if Sony had given you the atari pad with your PS4, things move on. and for me personally, the DS seems like an outdated design, 360 controller was great and it shows that many PS3 third party controllers were modeled on it.
I did try DS4 at a kiosk, and i agree, not exactly a great place or enough to give you a feel for it over time. However, i felt it long enough to decide that i didn't like a single thing about it, it's too small, too light and the sticks / triggers just feel too wrong. personal preference is all.
I understand preference...either way, good luck to you fellow System Wars gamer. :P

Eggsactly! :P
@seanmcloughlin: I think you can still get the Amazon PS4 + Knack bundle.
Edit Forgot you're from Ireland... Ah well.
I'm excited for the Europe launch. That means more people to play with! All of the guys on COD Ghosts are hardcore gamers and are super skilled at the game. I went from getting 17 kills, 14 deaths to 4 kills 23 deaths. I can't wait until more casuals get their hands on a PS4 this holiday season so the playing field will even out a little bit.
In between work and completing this dissertation, oooh boy yes yes yes i cannot wait for friday when the PS4 comes out here in the UK. Looking at me dancing around in glorious fun, tapping my feet to imaginary music from the future. Been using the Dualshock 4 with my PS3 for weeks now, got me a Sony Pulse Elite and a new Sony Xperia Smart phone. So much Sony in my room right now.
Anywayz feel free to add on me PSN: tosyn_88
