No love for Splatoon?

From what I gathered, part of the goal is to splat your color all around for your team's mobility and movement to gain tactical advantages on the other team.

I'm not even sure. Just a guess on my part. I haven't played the games you mentioned.

And that's the scope of the entire game? Not sure I can buy into that - even in light of its quirky approach to the shooter genre.

Anyway theres a Blue Gel that makes any surface you apply it on that makes it super bouncy... You remember Flubber ?

And theres an Orange Gel that acts as a super lubricant, it Quadruples your movement speed when you run on it.

Theres a Special paint in tag that allows you to walk on any surface you stick it on.... Including the ceiling.

Would be pretty awesome if Splatoon could do atleast one of these.

Do you want them to Pad it with A Story and Single player Campaign ? And achievements ?

I wouldn't mind achievements but a single player campaign wouldn't be necessary. for this type of game. But I'm just saying I wouldn't buy it for $50-$60+.

Character design is kind of weird. The kids don't quite have that Nintendo charm.

For $20 max, or if this is shown more later to have a lot more substance, than I'm on board.

Before that, no.

splatoon isn't worth $60, but to be honest 95% of games aren't.

So According to the Wiki its actually far more Structured than your typical CoD Multiplayer....... :p

Its pretty simple really..... Theres two teams with their own Territories....... The key is to go into Enemy Territory and Vandalise it with what limitted ink they give you.......

You can turn into to liquid form, which has a nifty little side effect when you come into contact with your own team's ink, in Liquid form, you can swim through the ink with increased mobility including on vertical surfaces and ceilings, you can swim through the Enemy's Ink too but with much much less Effeciency. This is also how you refill your Ink Supply.......... If you catch some punk tagging your turf simply turn the hose on them and blast'em with ink........ They will be given the boot and respawn back in their own territory........

Theres also some type of launch mechanic that revolves around moving in between your teamates or something like that....... Still not sure how it works.

What's with all these games looking like they're made by Nickelodeon. Despite it's cartoony surface though it looks to be good fun, I wouldn't pay premium price for it but if it were a $15 downloadable game or under I'd be all over it.

This game's paint theme got me thinking though - what ever happened to that WiiSpray graffiti game that got teased years back?

About the launch mechanic, you remember that part in the trailer went they get really high in the air? On the gamepad touch screen, you see the whole map and where your teammates and maybe enemies are. When you touch on the screen one of your teammates, you get launch directly where he's at. Faster way to travel but enemies could see you coming and wait for you to embush you. :P It has its ups and down.

I read the descriptions and build my imagination around them..... Its not hard if I've encountered a Specific mechanic before but that launch thing caught me off guard...... Just couldn't picture it......

Nah I'm kidding... sort of. As of right now, it looks like a cheap DL game, but with the right amount of time it looks like it could be a pretty legit arena shooter. It has serious potential if they get more modes in, stages, and guns into the game. The mechanics are really not all that bad at first inspection.

Honestly looks a hell of a lot better than the shit I saw shooter wise this show. I guess I'm jaded when it comes to militaristic shooters.

Sounds interesting, definitely going to keep an eye on it. The graphics do look a bit poor mind and not just because they are cartoony. Art is just a bit rough. Seems fun though so I'll likely give it a try regardless.

Looks pretty damn great, honestly. I'm hyped.
