That is one pretty looking game, but more than that I really like the look of the environments. Big cities, swamp like areas and forests. Hopefully it's all very interactable and not just there for show

I hope the dithering from the 2nd gets fixed. That really bothered me in the last title.

Crysis 3 looks better.

The previous two were fine looking games but this. Gah. Scary good.

An interview not long ago with one of the owners of the company still said 2014, but nothing more specific than that.

I am probably about 75 - 80% done with The Witcher 2, and loving the games. Both 1 and 2 have their own problems, no doubt. WIth that said, they are gripping and have a lot to offer. 3 is looking astounding thus far, and I have very high hopes for it. I think if they combine the best things from 1 and 2 and keep improving upon all the general stuff like they appear to be doing, this could be one of the best games ever made.

Yeah I hope that shit is gone and I hope it has a better LOD too. You could see stuff materialise 2 feet in front of you in TW2

Those two would want to be gone if the game has a bigger world with further draw distances, it would ruin the image otherwise.

Also I had hoped the sharpening filter was gone but it seems to be present still, but turning off AA and injecting SMAA last time fixed it

Really nice looking. It is hitting the sweet spot between having a distinct art art style (well, as much as it can within it's genre) and a wide colour pallete.

I just hope it's really good, I'd love an open world RPG that actually kicks ass. Hopefully if it is bethesduh see's this and takes notes because the elder scrolls really needs a revamp.

Nice, looks like they tweaked and improved everything wrong with 2, which visually wasn't too much - some sharper textures here, more realistic looking lighting there and boom, sexy graphics. Hopefully it doesn't run like poop, as long as there's no ubersampling we should be good.

The witcher is absolutely nothing like lord of the rings, the only thing they share in common is having elves and dwarfs.

really? u both think Crysis 3 looks better? The environment is much more filled with stuff in TW3. Without even talking about the witcher 3's waaaay superior art style and this being an open world game, i think technically it looks better than crysis 3 and i played the game almost maxed and know very well how it looks.

It's basically Lord Of The Rings trying to come off as "game of thrones" with Val Kilmer from Willow in the lead role. Thats all gerald of rivendale is. A mix of Val Kilmer from willow and solid snake. Tries to hard to come off as a cool bad ass.

It's also offensive that practically everyone is the game world is British. Yet the leads somehow, manage to be American. That's pandering my friends. At least Viggo Mortensen tried to put on an accent.

Can't wait for this. The Witcher 2 ended on an excellent note.

I dont remember what dithering is, but is that the black mesh over everything? its like they put some awful filter over it. That is my biggest gripe with it's graphics, obviously.

At gamescom there was a 30 minutes demo (i think it was during gamescom, not sure) and there was a bunch of journalists who've seen it and Bloodworth from GT said it almost exactly like TW2 on an episode of Invisible walls :(. They will fail combat wise you'll see

I'm saying technically because the stuff Cryengine 3 is doing in Crysis 3 is fucking mind boggling. From a sheer tech standpoint almost nothing beats Crysis 3 due to it having per pixel displacement mapping, great tesselation and insane lighting that truly fills the environment. Also it's fairly cluttered at times in the early levels, that grass level has insane amounts of detail and scale going on

Having said that, I'd pick TW3 visually over Crysis 3 all day everyday because it's more pleasing to look at. Crsysis 3 is like a really good looking hooker. You pay the bloated price for admission, have your fun with it and move on. It has absolutely no staying power

Yep, me too. I was worried at first cos it might be a bit too easy but I'm all for snappy fun combat cos TW2 left me yearning for better combat. As long as I feel like a badass I'm fine :P
